a capacity crowd
Fans descended on -the
Bayfield Arena last Satur-
day night, like locusts'on a
field. to watch the Bayfield
Zoo battle Team Ten from
CFPL. - TV in London. 645
paid admissions poured
through the turnstiles as the
two hockey giants played to
a nine all draw.
Never before, in its two
year history has the local
arena • ever had a capacity
crowd for a sporting event.
Even an hour before game
time. the north bleachers
were filled, leaving only
standing room for the late
comers.

Zurich opened the scoring
at the 6:06 mark'of the first
period on a power play goal
by Kevin Denomme, assisted
by Jamie McL inchey. Just
over a minute and a half
later, Mitchell tied the score
on a goal by Louis Looby,
assisted by Jackie Chaffe
and Dale Fischer..
There was no scoring in
the second period.
Mitchell's Fred Bice
scored an unassisted
powerplay goal at 10:43 of

the lead. Scott Jesney of

to maneuver them to their

blueline. The array of local
players included a chicken, a
bunny rabbit, a mouse and a

Tricks and hl jinx were the
story on the iceas the crowd
was kept in -stitches. The
memorable chants of the
`Bayfield Cheerleaders'
echoed throughout the
building.
Goal scoring was fast and
furious and it was hard to

Zurich Buckeye, Marvin
'Millimetre' Merner added
a pair of third period goals
-for Bayfield, at the expense
of team Ten goaltender
Dale Duffield. But the score
was of little importance to
the fans as hockey took a
back seat to the entertain-
ment.

Aside from all the fun and
