RR 2, 'Grand Bend celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary
Saturday with a family dinner at the Dominion Hotel in Zurich.

Mike CubberlX and Diana Oud were married at St. Boniface
Church in Zurich on September 13. The bride is the daughter
of Ted and Vonny Oud of Kippen, and the groom's parents
are George and Alice Cubberly of St. Mars. The couple went
on a trip to the Carolinas and are residing in St. Marys.

Mrs. Juliette Denomme
returned home on the
weekend, after being away
for three weeks visiting with
her families in Montreal and
London.
The ` golden agers held
their January meeting on
Monday evening in the
township hall with a good
turn out. Following the
business portion, all enjoyed
a few games of t..chre before
having lunch.
Seven girls from the area
spent Friday to Sunday at
the Pines in Chatham as
guests of Sister Bernadette
LaPorte.
Congratulations to Mrs.
Mary Gerber who is
celebrating her 84th birthday
today (January 15) . A family
party was held for her on
Sunday at the Maple Woods
Apartments in the common
room. Her grandson, Bob
Heywood played the ac-
cordion and sang songs in the
afternoon. A delicious pot-
luck supper complete with
birthday cake and ice cream
was served. Members of her
family came from Baden,
Tavistock, Seaforth, Exeter
area, Hensall and Zurich.

MR. AND MRS. WAYNE OKE
On November 29, Deb lin enfie d and Wayne Oke were un-
ited in marriage at Exeter United Church with Rev. J. Forsythe
officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold
lindenfieid, Exeter. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don
Oke, Zurich. The maid of honour was Julie r omphf.
Bridesmaids were Patricia Westcott, Sue Mitchell, Janet
Regier, Carol Gilmour. Flower girl was Marnie Mitchell. The
best man was Richard Regier. Guests were ushered by Randy
Oke, Kevin Oke, Steve Pfaff and Rick Lindenfield. Ryan
lindenfield was ring bearer. Soloists were Joanne Mclinchey
and Mary Jane Mclinchey accompanied by Dave Holtzmonn
on the organ. The couple are residing in Airdrie, Alberta.

days.
The entertainment
program for this month will
take place on January 22
(Thursday evening at 7:00).
Everyone is welcome to
attend. The group is plan-
ning to set up a quilt soon at
the home, and will be
needing some help.
Our sympathy is extended
to the family of Nora Bridle
whose father passed away on
January 8. The former Dr.
John Gorwill of Seaforth.
Congratulations to Helen
and Leo Creces whose fifth
child "A boy" was born on
Wednesday January 5 at
Exeter hospital. A little
grandson for Mr. and Mrs. _
Richard Creces, Zurich.
A good time was had by all
thole ' who went to the St.
Boniface parish family
skating party on Sunday
afternoon at the arena. It
- was sponsored by the Holy
Name Society and the Youth
club who provided hot
chocolate and hot dogs at the
school afterwards.
Last. Wednesday evening
the card club ladies met at
the home of Freda Moore to
celebrate three birthdays,
namely for Annie Fink-
beiner, Gertie Fleischauer
and Freda Moore. A good
time was had by all and a
birthday cake topped it off.

latters mother, Mr. Gertie
Fleischauer.
A surprise birthday party
for Marie Gelinas (Mozart)
was held on Sunday by her
family. She received many
lovely gifts from her
children, grandchildren and
great grandchild. Those
coming from London and
Zurich area brought along
the delicious variety of food
for supper.
