Rader is atten- ding the December meeting of the Huron County Council at Goderich this week. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hagan, bridal coujile, who sant their honeymoon with friends at Dunville and other points, returned to Zurich on Tuesday. Their many friends here wish them a very happy married life. A very unique Golden Wedding , Anniversary .was held over the dinner hour last Sunday, November 23, at the Eilber home, on Main Street," Crediton. The honoured couple was Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eilber. A couple of popular hunters, namely Welhngton Johnston, .Gideon Koehler, and Herb Mousseau. of town accompanied by Ulric Snell, of Exeter, spent the biggest part of last week in the Camlachie district in an ef- fort to shoot wild geese. They were . successful and returned with nine fine birds. There were accom- panied on •their way home by Mrs. Barbara Buckler, of Blake, who intends to spend the winter months there. Bronson Line, the past week. r i• Concerned about the safe- ty .of school children riding on eight school buses cross- ing the intersection of Highway No. 8 and Perth County; road No.' 10, in Dublin, the Huron -Perth Catholic school board un-' a'nimously endorsed a resolution Monday night calling for ,controlled lights to be installed* the corner. The ,resolution was presented by the 'council of the Township of Hibbert and the Village of Dublin follow- ing a recent fatal accident at the- intersection. It stated that after each of four prior fatal accidents had occurred at the corner, representation was made to the ministry of transportation and -com- munications for the installa- tion of lights but without results. With the fifth fatali- ty lash month when ,a Hibbert Township farmer lost his life in a collision of two trucks, the councils are again calling for lights to be installed. The school board is forwarding a copy of the board's endorsement . to. the Hon. • James Snow, Minister of Transportation and Com- munications and the local municipal councils. A resolution from the City of Stratford was endorsed by a narrow margin. The resolution calls for the minister of education to be petitioned to make changes so that membership of boards of education more adequately reflect student population and education taxes paid. Board chairman Ronald Murray said he didn't see how the resolution could affect the board and left his chairman's seat to vote against it. The two Stratford trustees, Ronald `Marcy and Jeannette Eybergen, per- sisted in discussing the resolution, with Mrs. Eybergen stating it did affect the board with the number from Stratford cut by one in the last election of Trustees. Vincent Young of Goderich said it was sad that Stratford started out with. four trustees, then the number was cut to three and "at the last election the number allotted to Stratfofd was two trustees. The couple were married December 17, 1930 at the St.. Peter's Lutheran Church parsonage and 'farmed in the Dashwood area until moving to Zurich in 1963.
