Wren baptised
at Helisall United
"0 To Be A Child Again"
was' the title of the sermon on
Sunday morning at the
United Church as Mr.
McDonald took text from the
scripture readduring the
Baptismal Service "Except
you become as little
children, you shall not enter
the Kingdom of God" He
spoke on how we es adults
become literal, matter-of-
fact, scientific, and miss so
much- of life - whereas
children with their child -like -
faith, imagination, _arid
spontaneity are able to
receive and give so much to
life. Jesus always welcomed
the spontaneous. impulse as
in Peter's confession and the
woman's breaking of the jar
of precious ointment. As

adults, with our literal
outlook, miss so much of the
glory and wonder of
Christmas which the child
with his child4ike faith of
openess, receptivity and
ability to receive can have.

children were received into
the Family and household of
faith through Baptism: Tara
Lynn Ingram, daughter of
Sandy and Pam Ingram;

an old time Christmas Party

evening. The evening opened
with the singing of Christ-

Gift" was shown which
- showed what the real
meaning of giving at
Christmas is. The children.
discussed with Mr.

film, what this meant to
them. The children, young
people and adults were then
divided into age groups and
enjoyed a time of games and
fun. The younger group were
led by Janis Bisback and
Wendy Banks and the older
group by Pat Cook and Stan
McDonald. The evening
came to an exciting climax
when Santa arrived and time
was given for each child to
haveconversation with Santa
before the candy bags were
-given out. Santa also left
enough candy bags to take to
