Hockey teams have
mined success
In their first start of' !the
week the Zurich Buckeyes
dropped a 3-2 decision tg.the
Goderich Flyers Monday' in
Goderich.
The Bucks scored the
opening goal of the game

late in the first period as Jim
Murray took a pass from
Kris Bedard and fired a shot
past Goderich, goalie Percy
Bedard.
There was no scoring in
the middle frame but in the
third period the Flyersst ucli •
for two goals with their first
score coming from Phil.
Petry with help from Lent
Kolkman and Phil Paquette. -
At 11:55 Bill Lewis fired a
shot which Zurich goalie
Randy Oke couldh't handle.
Paul Corrivead and Barry
Bloch. assisted. _
The Bucks tied the game
on an effort by Kim McKin-
non with help from Gerald
Weido and Greg Kirk but
less than three minutes later,
Paquette scored the winner
for Goderich. Kolkman had
the assist.
The Buckeyes have a busy
schedule with the team
visiting Exeter Thursday,
hosting Centralia Friday
evening and Hensall Sunday
afternoon.

In the final frame Huron

but this proved too little, too
late. Smith and Brian
Horner assisted.
At Brussels the Midgets
scored two goals in the third
period to tie the game.
The teams exchanged
goals in the first period with
Horner scoring from Smith
and Overholt for Zurich.
The only goal of the second
period was \'scored ;by
Brussels as they took a 2-1
lead going into the final por-
tion of the game.
Sandwicheda, around a
Brussels score, in the last
period were scores by
Denomme and David Erb.
Johnston and goalie Kevin
Oke had the assists.
Bantams
. split games -
The Zurich Bantams split
a pair of games this past
week, edging their Exeter
counterparts 3-2 id an exhibi-
tion game and losing to
Blyth 4-2 in regular WOAA
action.
Saturday in Exeter the
Bantams received two goals
from Dean Armstrong and a
single tally from the stick of •
Mark Boogemans. Kevin
__v_eryand Dennis Schroeder
had the assists.
In the game with Blyth,
D'arcy 'Martin and
Armstrong had the goals.
Boogemans, Brian Kading,
Schroeder and Bob Snell had
the assists on the goals.
Midgets tie
Brussels
The Zurich Midgets lost to
Huron Park -Monday 5-4 itbd
tied Brussels 3-3 in their two
games this past week.
In their loss to Huron Park
the Midgets had two scores
in the first period thanks to
the efforts of David Smith
Sherwoods beat
ExeterMohawks
The Hensall Sherwoods
scored a 6-3 victory over the
Exeter Mohawks in South
Huron hockey league play at
the Hensall arena Thursday
night.
In Thursday's game, the
Sherwoods outscored the
Mohawks two goals to one in
each period.
Hensall took four of the six
minor penalties called.
