of Calgary are presently
spending the week in town
visiting with their parents,
friends and relatives and
planning to attend her
cousin's wedding on
Saturday, Wayne Oke.

Carmel Sweeney
Several neighbours and
friends of Ferd and Alice
Haberer surprised them with
a going away party at their
home on Saturday. The
evening was spent playing
cards, visiting and
presenting gifts to the
couple, having lunch and
singing Happy Birthday to
Ferd, who was 83 years old
on Wednesday. The
Haberers will be moving
into the new apartments at
the rest -home by the first of
December.
Everyone is invited to a
tea, bake and craft sale on
Saturday at the Zurich
Mennonite Church. Proceeds
will go for Carol Erb's work
in Afghanistan

Congratulations to David
Cyr and Carol Dietrich who
were married on Saturday at
Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Church, with dinner and
reception in Hensall. David
is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Cyr.
The ladies auxiliary will be
holding their Christmas
meeting on Tuesday
December 2 at the rest -
home. Special entertainment
from the local Brownies and
Girl Guides is sure to be a
treat for the residents. As
well, each resident will
receive a Christmas gift. All
are welcome to come out and
join us!
Rene and Cathy Sauve of
Chatham spent the weekend
with her parents, Mr. and
Golden Glimpses
As of this minute, there is
no snow in sight. However,
Christmas is drawing nearer
and nearer and we are
starting to put up our
decorations in preparation
for the Resident's Christmas
party which will be held on
Friday evening, December
5th.
Films were shown on
Monday evening followed by
refreshments. If anyone
travels to Goderich on
Tuesdays or Wednesdays,
we are finding it a bit dif-
ficult to get our films
transported back to
Goderich after showing them
on Monday evening. If you
could help us out, it would be
very much appreciated.
Mrs. Martha Miller who
was in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, for eye surgery has
returned, also Mrs. Anne
Kew and Mrs. Nancy
Koehler who were patients in
South Huron Hospital.
Residents who have been
out visiting recently were
Mrs. Margaret Pfaff, Mrs.
Mabel Jaques, Mrs.
Florence Gould and Mr.
James Clarke.
On Tuesday evening,
December 2nd at 7:00 p.m.,
the Ladies Auxiliary will be
holding their Christmas
meeting here at the Home.
All interested ladies of the
community and members of
the Auxiliary are invited to
attend this meeting,
On Friday evening bingo
was played followed by
refreshments.
The Sunday evening
chapel service was con-
ducted by Rev. Stanley
MacDonald of Hensall
United Church. Mrs. Fuss
presided at the organ during
the service,
Mrs. Paul Cyr and attended
her brother's wedding on
Saturday.
Mr. Leeland Willert is a
patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London.
Congratulations to Judy
and Paul Morrison on the
arrival of their second child,
a boy, born on Thursday at
St. Joseph's Hospital.
St. Boniface parish will be
holding a bazaar, plant
table, tea and bake sale, etc.
at the school on Saturday
December 6 from 10-5.

framed oil painting, donated
by Jerome Sweeney, and a
comforter and three piece
towel set donated by Mrs.
Bengough of Hensall, which
will be drawn at the bazaar.

Lucia Aldous in Mt.
Clements Michigan.
Mike and Donna Caers and
two children returned home
on Friday after spending a
week's holiday in Florida
and all enjoyed going to
T)isney World.

Dietrich attended the funeral
of her uncle in Detroit this
past week.
