Will mark Remembrance Day
A large congregation
attended the Hensall United
Church on Sunday morning
when Rev. McDonald spoke
on the subject of "Jesus The
Minimizer" basing his
thoughts on the Gospel of
Luke Chapter Twenty Two.
The choir sang an.
'arrangement of "Faith of
Our Fathers" by Hampshire.
The Children's story was
about "Wearing a Mask"
and trying to be someone we
are not. The beautiful floral
arrangements were in loving
memory of Cecil Van Horne
placed there by his daughter
and her husband Gerald and
Mary Anne Flynn. The
ushers for the day were
Dwight Consitt, and Brad
Buchanan, Ross Veal and
Cecil Pepper. Next Sunday
will be Remembrance
Sunday with the members of
the Legion, Legion
Auxiliary, Scouts, Cubs and
Beavers worshipping in a
body prior to the service at
the cenotaph.
The young people's group
met at the United Church on
Sunday evening, following a
discussion and a film on
"Honesty", the group held a
planning session at which
they planned their meetings
for the next number - of
menths. The meeting closed
with a time of recreation:

organization for Hensall and
area girls 9-11 will be star-
ting on Monday November 3
at 4 p.m. at the, United
Church and will meet every -

area advance polls
Keen election interest is In Zurich five persons
indicated by totals in ad- turned up at the advance
vane polls in some area poll. In Hensall 14 votes

In Hay Township, for In-
stance, there were 141
voters and 117 In Grand Bend
who took advantage of Satur-
day's advance poll to cast
their ballots.
Exeter clerk Liz Bell
reports 48 voters in Exeter,
almost triple the number
who went. to the poll early
two years ago.
At Bayfield 28 out of 993
voters cast their ballot while
in Stanley which has a con-
siderable number of
summer property owners,
only 36 out of 2,001 eligible
voters cast their ballot.

from their daughter Mrs.
Irene Shaw took place who
flew in from - North Carolina
with her children, Mary
Ellen Williams and Steven
Shaw of Toronto. And all
helped their parents to
celebrate their 50th an-
niversary on Saturday.
Changes in town are that,
Jim and Cathy Bardawill
have moved into one of the
apartmentsat theeast end of
town (near Dr. Wallaces)
and Judy Clausius and boys
have also moved into one of
those apartments.
Two kind$ of people never
amount to much: Those who
will not do what they're told
and those who can do nothing
else.

Expos took the softball title.
Guest speaker for the
evening was CFPL sports
director Gary Allen Price
'who amused the crowd with
a name game and several
humorous sports stories. In
the contest, a young lady
won two tickets to a London
Knights home game and had
her name announced over
CFPL radio Friday morning.
Price said he was very
pleased to be in Zurich.

Hensall Sherwood:
The Hensall Sherwoods
picked up a single point in
South Huron Hockey League
action this past week.
, On Sunday in Forest the
Sherwoods and the Forest
Boyds tied 4-4 while on
Thursday the Zurich
Buckeyes defeated Hensall
8-2.
In the Forest game captain
Jim Ferguson lead the way
for the Sherwoods with a pair
of goals.
The Boyds took a 2-0 lead
after the first period but
Hensall came back to tie the
game midway through the
second frame as they scored
two goals within 25 seconds.
Ferguson picked up both of
the counters with help
coming from Rick Ingram
and Gary Davies.
Forest regained the lead
with a goal at the 9:29 mark
of the final period but goals
by Dwight Consitt and Steve
Knight saw the Sherwoods
regain the lead.
Forest tied the game with
only 55 seconds remaining to
be played.
