Couple celebrate anniversary
Car wash raises $200
The car wash on Saturday
was a big success! Heather
Redick and several teenage
girls washed between 40 and
50 cars making them a profit
of $200.00 to go . towards
Zurich
Carmel Sweeney
buying equipment for the
game of Ringette which they
hope to be soon starting. Any
girls interested in joining
from the ages of 14 to 18 are
still welcome, (phone 236-

They also need parents to
help coach.

Boniface C.W.L. spent the
day last Wednesday at a
Deanery meeting in
Goderich, held at St. Peter's
Church, which was very
interesting • and inspiring
with the theme being Faith
and The Family.

really enjoyed their first trip
out west recently when they
went by plane to visit for a
week with their daughter,

U.C.W. went to the regional
meeting in Greenway last
Wednesday with Mr. and
Mrs. Carf Cann of Exeter
showing slides of Japan.

mer Zurich resident, Mrs.
Donna Salmon, now Exeter.

Sister Florian from Sacred
Heart Convent spent last
week helping out for four
days in London, cooking at
their Prayer House for a
retreat, then went onto
Windsor to spend a few days
with 'her parents, and in
resuming the craft classes
for the senior citizens at St.
Boniface.
Bishop Sherlock
celebrated the Mass and•
sacrament of Confirmation
to 42, grade seven and eight
pupils at St. Boniface Church
last Wednesday, followed by
a reception and luncheon in
the school gym.
Miss Esther Steckle of
Ohio spent several days
recently with her mother
Mrs. Seleda Steckle, and
other family members were
guests on Sunday. An in-
teresting feature of her visit,
was the showing of slides
from a trip to Switzerland
this summer and other
European countries. The
viewed slides of Oberam-
mergau . the passion play
which is only put on every
ten years.
A delicious turkey and
ham Thanksgiving dinner
was held at the rest home
this past Sunday for the
residence and their families
with a very good turn -out.
Ladies from the auxiliary
helped with the serving.
Weekend guest with
Gerald and Helen Bedard
were their son Richard anfl
his fiance Joan Daly of
Toronto and joining them for
dinner on Saturday were her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Daly, also -of Toronto.
Seleda Steckle returned
home from a week's visit
with her daughter, Fern and
family in Ohio.
Ted and Jean. Geoffrey
spent the weekend in Detroit
and visiting with' her, sister,
Madeline Denomme 4 ho is a
patient in a hospital there.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Corriveau spent
Thanksgiving week in
Windsor with their son, Ted
and Sarah Robson, and all
visited with Mrs. Laurine
Charbeau in Grosse Point
Michigan before returning
home Wilfred and Beatrice
spent the night with relatives
in Chatham, Mr. and Mrs.
Francis Peltier. After being
back for a few days they are
with their daughter "Beverly
and family in Lake .Orion.
Tuesday evening the
C.W.L. ladies said a Living
Rosary before Mass, then
departed to the 'school for
their October meeting.
