Soccer is slated to return
to the agricultural park next
season. This year our
Bayfield teams played in
Zurich due to the poor field
conditions early in the year.
Plans are in the works for
more fund raising activities,
including another Las Vegas
Fun Night.
The next rec-committee
meeting will be at the
Municipal Building on
Thursday November 13, at
8:00 p.m.
Cub pack meets
Last Thursday evening
was a special night for four
members of the Beavers, as
they 'swam up', and became
members of the ist Bayfield
Cub Pack. Swimming up
were, David Hayter, Darryn
McCash, Jason McCash and
Bobby Fisher.
Following the ceremony,
the Cubs and Beavers, and
their leaders all joined in for
a rousing game of bean-bag
hockey and snakeand hunter.
At the meeting, Janet
McDougall of Bayfield, was
also invested as a Beaver
leader.
The Cubs would like to
remind everyone,that the
annual Apple Day is coming
up on October 25.
Unfortunately it is too late
in the year to register any
teams in the O.H.A. League
. hayfield
by

this winter, but our Bayfield
players will still be able to
compete at -the house league
level. At present the boys are
without a coach, so it is
asked that any interested
party, or parties, with time
on their hands, please come
forward and help the teams
get organized. This may be
accomplished by calling the
arena, or attending the next
rec-committee meeting.
As far as baseball is

Centennial
Central School
Open House was held
October 1st at Huron Cen-
tennial School. The level of
participation was excellent.
A highlight or the evening
was a video tape of the
Classroom activities.
Camp Sylvan, the outdoor
Education Centre, was alive
with students and teachers
where the Grade VIII
students of Huron Centennial
spent 2 days and one night
the last week of September.
Forestry, Survival games,
orienteering, cemetery
study, fossil hunting and the
study of an abandoned
village were all included in
the curriculum.
Student Council elections
were held in late September.
Final results were president
- Darryl Finnigan, vice
president - Nancy Taylor and
secretary - Jay Brandon.
Also elected were
representatives for each
class.

Thanksgiving Weekend at
home in Belleville, with her
parents and sifters.
Mr. and Mrs: -Art Latimer,
Weston, spent the weekend
with Mrs. Ethel Knight, at
her village residence.
A Thursday night guest of
Mrs. Ethel Knight was Mr.
Ron Knight of Toronto.
Spending the weekend at
their cottage .in Bayfield,
were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard
Stugeon, and sons Jeff and
Roland, Orangeville.
Mr. and Mrs. Gil Latimer
holidayed last week in
Toronto, where they stayed
at his parents home, Mr.
and Mrs. Art Latimer,
field
while visiting friends and
relatives, then travelled
onward to Newcastle, where
they spent some time with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Yates.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hulley,
Paris, -spent the holiday
weekend at 'the Sandcastel',
along with their ensemble.
Mr. and Mrs. Art .Potts,
Nottawa, and Mr. and Mrs.
Don Heard, Everett, were
weekend guests in the home
of Mrs. N. Haw over
Thanksgiving.
Mr. and Mrs. Greg
Neilsen, London, were
weekend. visitors at . their
Sunset Lane cottage, north bf
the village.

mark it's 100th anniversary
in 1982 and preparations for
the celebration of this
historic occasion are well

One of the major functions
of the year will be
"Homecoming", designated
for the period July 3rd to llth
inclusive, and the Centennial
Committee is now in the
process of establishing a
register of persons who
formerly resided in the city
of Brandon. Through the
