Missionary League, Ontario
District as one of its. projects
for the next two years.

Andy DeBoer, and Mrs.
Clarence Hohner of Peace
Lutheran Church, Exeter
were among the over 400
delegates, pastors, visitors,
and special guests who
gathered for the two day
convention.

Lutherans For Life was the
guest speaker. Her topics
were "Easter, a woman for
all seasons", "What is your
sign?" and "Abortion". Mrs.
Garton authored the book
"Who broke the Baby"
which examines the roll of
language and pro -abortion
slogans in forming public
opinion.
The delegates set a goal of
$22,000 for projects for the
1980-1982 biennuim. Projects
chosen were Dashwood
church rebuilding, financial
aid to St. Catharines
seminary students,
seminary building fund,
Missions at Corunna, Doon
andPelhenn,braillemachines,
investigate a new Mission"
field, French ministry, and
Luther Bible translators
field start up equipment. The
members of the League save
mites and gather. them
regularly for these projects.

Mrs. Howard Daters, Mrs.
Faye Rader, Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Keller, Pastor and Mrs.
M. Mellecke and Judith
Mellecke of Zion Lutheran
church attended the Zone
Sunday School Teachers Fall
Rally held at St. John's
Lutheran Church, Seebach's
Hill on September 21.
The Rev. Allen Schede of
Mississauga was the leader
for an exercise in Bible
Study. He showed how to use
a few basic rules for fruitful
Bible Study and how it could
be fun.i -
Zion Sunday School was
given a gift to replace' the
projection screen lest in the
1979 fire. Zion also will host
the 1981 Rally. Refreshments
were served by the host
congregation during the
fellowship hour.
Seniors meet
Fifty-four members and
four visitors were present at
the September meeting with
the new president. Pearl
Miller, presiding. -
The fall rally of zone eight
will be held in Dashwood
Community Centre, October
22. A bus trip is being
planned_ to Jack Miner's
sanctuary in October. A good
report was given on the -
convention held at Kingston
by Pearl Miller.
Guest. speaker, Lloyd
Rader from the London
weather office spoke on the
work he and hisbrotherFloyd
do there and showed films on
tornados.
- Good fishing
Mr. and Mrs. Aaron
Restemayer and Mr. ` and
Mrs. Irvin Rader 'spent an
enjoyable week at
Inverlachy fishing. The
weather was very nice and
fishing fairly good. As we
were next door neighbors our
evenings were spent playing
canasta or solo.
Friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Pigford -from Pennsylvania
were happy to see us and she
brought me a jar of plum
jam.
Times dynamite party •
The second meeting of the
Dashwood two club was held
Monday at the Dashwood
community Centre where the
girls learned how to turn a
party from dull to dynamite
with tacos. Roll call was
answered by 13 girls "The
Stir Fried recipe I made at
Home.
Topics discussed were
Mexican Fare, Tacos, Whet
is a food processor, its
talents, safety of small
appliances. The girls made
their own taco shells and
filled them with beef and
chicken fillings which they
also prepared.,
Personals
Jayne Hayter has returned
home-. fdllowing a vacation
with Paul, Joanne Maguire
and David of Grand Bend at
Cape Cod and the New
England States.
Tom Maguire spent the
time with his grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hayter.
Leeland and Robert
Restemayer and Doug
Fletcher, Woodham, spent
the weekend at Inverlochy
where Leeland was lucky to
get a pike weighing over 8
pounds.
Mr. -and Mrs, Don
Lockhart, London, and Mr.
and Mrs. Lorne Genttner
spent the weekend in
Peterborough with Mr. and
Mrs. Don Genttner. Stephen
Genttner returned home
with them and spent the
week\with his grandparents.
Elizabeth Deters is a
student at Fanshawe
College.
The Huron Centre
for Children & Youth
is pleased to announce that
Mr. Robert Couchman
Executive Director
Family Services Association
of Metropolitan Toronto
will speak on
"The Mental Health of Children
at Home and at School"
At the Annual Meeting of the Centre at
160 Huron St., Clinton on Wednesday, Oc-
tober 1, 1980 at 7:30 p.rri.
Mr. Couchman has been a frequent guest
on _national radio and television speaking
on matters relatedto mental health,
fairiilies and education. ,
The Huron Centre for Children & Youth has
provided counselling services for hundreds
of young people and families from all over
Huron• County and beyond since its' incor-
poration as a Children's Mental Health
Centre it 1977, The Centre is governed by a
Board of Directors, elected at the Annual
Meeting of the Corporation each dear. •
