Will finish rec.
The annual Zurich men's
rec fastball league tourna-
ment will be completed this
Saturday with about six
'games remaining to be
played'including the A and B
finals.
Due to a day of continuous
rain on Saturday,the tourna-
ment was moved back a day

and one diamond was put out
of commission.
A total ofd teams started
the tournament with. entries
corning from Seaforth, Clin-
ton, Exeter and .Zurich.
Remaining in contention
for the A championship and
its $200 first prizeare the
Zurich DJ's. Seaforth
Mainstreeters, the Exeter
Carpetbaggers. the Zurich,
Oilburners and the Zurich
Sunsets. The runner-up in
the A flight championship
game which will be played
Saturday at 8 p.m. will pick
up $100.
In the B division teams
still in the running for the
$100 first prize are the.
Seaforth Villagers, Clinton
Bluebirds, Seaforth B.P.'s,
Clinton Lobb's Caseys and
the Exeter Crescent Rolls.
The runners up in the B
flight will receive $60. The B
final gets underway at 6:30
p.m.
Molson's Ontario
Breweries will present
trophies to the most
valuable players in the A and
B flights and to the most
valuable pitchers in each
division.

Villagers 7-2, Seaforth
Mainstreeters edged Exeter
Gord's Variety 10-9 and the
Zurich DJ's clobbered the
Clinton Bluebirds 9-2.

Ken Clarke said fans are
more than welcome to come
and cheer their favourite
team with food and
refreshments available in
the arena.
Providing the umpiring for
the tournament are
members of the Goderich
Umpires Association.
Playoffs continue
Action in the men's rec
league continues this week
with the playoffs split up
into A and B divisions. ,
In the A flight. the Domi-
nion Tavern, Shaws and DJ's
will do battle while the B
division will see the
Oilburners, Pontiacs and
Patz Boys play each other.
Minor softball
The minor softball
program has just about con-
cluded with the Orioles and
Expos beginning ttreir
playoff final tonight
(Thursday). The series is a
best of three affair. ,
Buckeyes practice
The Zuriqh Buckeyes,
defending champions of the
South Huron Hockey League
will take to the ice for the
first time this season, Sun-
day at the. Huron Park
arena. .
Team spokesman Jerry
Rader says the squad will be
practicing from 11 a.m. until
12 ' this Sunfiay. Thursday,
September 25 from 10 p.m.
until 11, and from 7p.m. to 8'
p.m. the evenings of -
September 28. October, 2,
gnd October 5.
The Buckeyes will play
their first game of the
season on Thursday, October
9 against an undetermined
opposition at the HuronPark
facility.
Another exhibition game
may lie played on October 16
with the Bucks scheduled to
open the . 1980-81 season at
home on Sunday, October 19.

Jungle party in
The Huron County Library
is sponsoring a jungle party
at the town hall, Zurich on
Thursday,' September 25
from 7-9 p.m.
