Mr. Gundel, of the Hall Dent Company in London, was in town last week making arrangements to close down the .operation of the plant here in Zurich. The eight-year-old daughter of Mrs. J. Corriveau had the misfor- tune to break her collarbone on Monday. The little girl was engaged in milking , a cow, which, became ornery and kicked her. In a contested game here on the local diamond on' Tuesday night, Zurich won the South -Huron League title by defeating Crediton 6-4. 50 -Years Ago Mr. Albert Siebert and C. Fritz are away to Sky Lake fishing. Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Stade spent the weekend at Marine City, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hess and Mr. and Mrs. Wes Merner and Catherine took a trip , to Stratford on Wed- nesday morning. Mr. Rowe, the new prin- cipal of the Zurich Con- tinuation School, of Manitoulin Island, and ac- companied by -his father, arrived in town on Wed- nesday, and they are getting settled for the re -opening of school, on Tuesday of next week.. Mr. Lloyd Klopp is recovering from an operation for appendicitis performed a few weeks ago .in the • Londonospital . Mr. F.C..KlAbfleisch is busily engaged having his acerage of flax pulled which is mostly being -done by indians. . Attend wedding of minister's son Mr. and Mrs. Don Gaiser, Paul, Allan and Faye, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gaiser, Kim and Lyn attended the Seebach-Colpitts wedding at Kitchener, Sam Seebach is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Bruce Seebach,Rev. Seebach performed the ceremony. A largenumber of Gaiser relatives also attended in- cluding Mrs. Cora Gaiser, Kitchener and Ray Kretz- man and Bob, Florida. - Dashwood. Mrs. Irvin Rader Sunday, they all attended the morning service at Rev. Seebach's church where Rev. and Mrs. Seebach (the former Betty Gaiser) renewed their marriage vows before Rev. •J.H. Getz a former minister at the Church and who_ performed _the marriage 25 years ago in Calvary United Church when he was minister in Dashwood. A reception followed in the church basement where members of the congrega- tion were also able to renew acquaintances with Rev. and Mrs. Getz and members 'of their family. • - Frasers Unite . Mr. and. Mrs. Emil Becker and family attended the Fraser Reunion held at Mr. and Mrs. Keith Fraser's cot- tage at Norman Heights, Sunday.Those attending came from Dashwood, Lon- don, Mitchell and St. Marys. Following dinner, games, contests and swimming were enjoyed by all - the relatives. Contests included candy and peanut scrambles, tasting contest, guessing candy in a jar, mystery can, digit contest and scavenger hunt. • Personals Mr.a nd Mrs. Mike Burke, Brampton, spent some time last week with Milt Haugh. Mr. Kippen has been engaged as a mechanic at Rose's new garage. Mr. and Mrs. C:L. Smith and daughter Mae, and Mr. D. Smith were Sunday visitors with friends at Arkona. 35 Years Ago Mrs. Gus Denomme, who is now stayingin Dublin, was a visitor in town one day last week. Earl Thiel, Earl Weido, Harold Johnston, and Ed Gascho were in Detroit on Sunday attending - a professional baseball game. Dorothy Olive O'Brien and Kenneth Weber were united in marriage in the Evangelical Church qn Saturday, by the Rev. C.B:`- Heckendorn . - . Gideon Koehler, Jack Johnston, Fred Haberer and. Arthur Aulerich enjoyed a -fishing' trip 'over the weekend at `Croaker Bay, • where there is excellent trout fishing. Mr. Ray Schilbe, who,is in -the. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gemming left by plane for Fresno, California last week. 25 Years Ago Mr. H. Neeb has the misfortune to fall and fracture a bone in his arm. Miss Arlene Haberer has returned after spending the summer at Grand Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Milford Schilbe Spent several days in Kitchener and Buffalo last eek.
