Haberer also expressed concern that an ad in the London Free Press by the firm handling the system's $815,000 debenture issue did not - specify that the deben- ture was for the telephone system. Personals Jim and Mary -Ann Vanos and daughter of Toronto, spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Geoffrey. A good time was had by all on Sunday at the cottage of Mozart and Marie Gelinas where a birthday party barbecue was held in honor of three relatives. First celebrating was Mozart Gelinas Sr.. Thursday evening Donna Glanville also stopped in to visit her grandparents. Joe and Linda Denomme of London spent a couple of days last week with her mother, Mrs. Dolly Jeffrey. Peter and Evelyn Jeffrey along with Wayne and Tracy spent the last two weeks vacationing at Sauble Beach. Mozart and Julie Gelinas Jr. and two children spent last week in Powasson (near North Bay) at the home of relatives, Marc and Catck Kelly. George and Donna Watson and family enjoyed the day last Friday in Collingwood. Jim and Veronica Bedard accompanied by Bob and Lill Baker of Hensall spent from the previous Thursday to Tuesday in St. Pauls, Minnesota attending the wedding of Scott Smith, son of Bill and Jean Smith. Jim and Theresa Burr and two children of London spent the weekend with Mrs. Dol- ly Jeffrey and on Sunday Mike Jeffrey and girl friend Sue Harris of London were visitors. Louis and Delores Schilbe returned home last Tuesday after being away for nearly two weeks. where they travelled through the states of New York. Vermont and New Hampshire and came home by way of Quebec, stepping for a couple of days in Ottawa at her sister's place. Mrs. Agnes Lavin of Maidstone visited for a few days with her mother Mrs. Theresa Ducharme this past week and returned home with her son. Michael and wife Helen Lavin. The Zurich Wood Products was shut down for the past two weeks to enable those who work there to. go on holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Flax - bard spent a couple of days in Fergus this past week at the home of Anne's sister, Mae and Ray McNall. They also spent last Wednesday in Kitchener with their son and family Gary and Betty Flax - bard. Lewis and Marlene Gingerich and three children spent three days the previous week in Collingwood and the kids enjoyed going on the "Great Slide Ride". Ray McKinnon spent a few days in Kapuskasing last week and attended his niece's wedding. Leo, Cecile and Edward Meidinger, Kevin and Janet McKinnon and two children and Mr. and Mrs. Clem Regier travelled by mobile home for a week to such places as Midland. Wasaga Beach and Kapuskasing, where Janet and Kevin also attending the wedding of his cousin. Paul and Marie Cyr along with sons Mike and Pat returned home Sunday night safe and sound from a lovely two and a half weeks vaca- tion, travelling to such places as New Brunswick, where they attended a 50th wedding anniversary party for an aunt and uncle. Then onto Quebec City and Ot- tawa. A bridal shower was held at the home of Mrs. Audrey Haberer on Saturday given by her daughter Chris Eagleson. in honor of Michelle Robinson of Kirkton, who is' the fiance of Steven Haberer. They are to be married in October. A family gathering was held at the home of Ross and Marg Johnston on Sunday celebrating the couple's 40th wedding anniversary. Congratulations to a very fine pair who are well known to many of us. Earnie and Ruth Lem- mings of Rochester, New York are presently spending a few days with her brother and his wife. Speed recoveries A speedy recovery is ex- tended to Mr. Urban Pfile who is a patient in St. Joseph's hospital, London and to Dave Stark, who had the misfortune of getting hit by a baseball at the game last Wednesday evening and as a result has a broken nose. Edward Meidinger has his arm in a cast due to a fall last week. Bean festival set Representatives from the various groups in town attended one of the final organization meetings for this year's "Bean Festival" last Tuesday conducted by president Mrs. Howard Finkbeiner and first vice, Chuck Erb which was held in the festival kitchen. Everything is well under control for the big day August 23 so please be ready and willing if you get a phone call to help in booths or bake pies, as it is a community project! Mrs. Annie Van Raay of RR 3 Dashwood is presently spending a week with her daughter in Peterborough, Cora andDave Whittington, and helping to take care of her new little granddaughter "Jeannette" who was born on Tuesday August 5th. Allen and Rose Mary Scott and three boys recently vacationed for a week, cam- ping in Northern Ontario. Bonnie Schenk and kids, Kathy, Kelley and Kris along with Patty and Doug Webber and Glen Neeb spent the weekpend in Cedar Point, Ohio, and all enjoyed going on a lot of rides. Week -end guests at the home of Geraldine and Max Hall were, Miss Lois Benton of Rye in Sussex England and Bridget Chamber of Bat- tle in Sussex, who are from a group of 14 girls who are here as part of a ranger unit program spending three weeks going to different places to help . Guide and Brownie leaders out. Mrs. Juliette Denomme returned home on the week- end from spending a week in London. Her daughter Luciene Denomme accom- panied her back and stayed for a few days.
