Congratulations to Joanne
McBride who was chosen as
the Fair Queen on friday at
the Talent show which began
the three day event.
A good crowd•was also out
on Saturday to view the
parade and take in the
exhibits and midway. Also a
dance at night. Sunday
topped it off with a horse
show outside featuring
jumping horses, western
games and ponies.
Winners of kids draw for
radios were Jody Broke4i-
shire and John Regier..
Relatives of the Turkneim
family held a reunion last
week in Zurich with many
members coming from such
places as Los Angeles,
Winnipeg, Toronto, Kit-
chener, London and our
area.
Also on July 9th a birthday
dinner was held in honor of
Mrs. Anne Turkheim who
celebrated her 88th year.
Ed and Lattie Gascho
returned home Monday from
a week's vacation in Sun-
dridge and Ahmic Lake
(near North Bay.)
A good time was had by all
at the July reunion for the
Ducharme families. It was
held this year at the home of
Ron and Diane Ducharme on
Sunday. There were games
such as lawn darts and
baseball followed by a picnic
supper outside.
A bridal `shower was held
on Sunday in honour of
Angela Dittmer of ISashwood
(fiancee of Brad Clausius)
at the home of Mrs. Karen
Rader. It was given by his
sisters, Ruth, Cheryl " and
Karen.
Angela received many
lovely and useful gifts. She
was—also bride -elect at a
shower Monday evening held
for -friends at the Zurich
Mennonite church,

Sunday for Patty Dann of
London - (fiancee of iRick
Bedard) who are to be
married in -August. She was
the recipient of man
beautiful gifts.: A . lovely
lune was enjoyed by all.
Mr. and Mrs. Louie
Ducharme accompanied by
Barb Rau and Children spent
a few days last week in'
Burlington.

Green also pointed out
that the lifeguards worked
on the victim in the am-
bulance all the way to the
hospital.
When the lifeguards
returned to the beach peo-
ple came up and shook their
hands and told them they
had don the best they could,
Green added.
The Ontario Provincial
Police are conducting an in-
vestigation into - the drew-
ning and the sergeant was
unavailable for comment at
press time.
Mrs. Gabrielle Flynn of
London called on her aunt
and uncle one day last,week
being Mr. and Mrs. Dennis
Corriveau.

followed by cake and ice

Hampton New Brunswick
spent from Friday - to
Monday with her parents,
Mr. and . Mrs.
Jerome 'Dietrich, at RR 3
Zurich.
Joe and Patsy Suab and
children Chris and Any of
Windsor stopped in for a‘visit
on Tuesday morning at their
cousins, Carmel Sweeney's
as they were on the way to
visit with Patsy's parents in
Sudbury•for a week.
Mrs. Donna Smith and
three children of Tillsonburg
spent from last Wednesday
to this Tuesday at the ,home
of her in-laws, Harold and
Joan Smith and family.

six months old, Matthew, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Regierof Crediton was third, Andrea,
daughter of Mr. -and• Mrs. Andre Durand of RR 2 Zurich was first and Bradley, son of Mr.
