Many attend Zurich Bible School
Between 160-170 kids are
taking part in the two week
summer Bible school that is
taking place at thepublic
Zurich
Carmel Sweeney
school and Lutheran Church
every morning and is to
conclude with a program to-
night (Thursday) at the
school, everyone is welcome
to attend.
Ball players
A good number of children
are taking part in playing
base ball through the Rec
committee on various nights
for different ages, and all are
having a lot of fun and
exercise.

Twelve young people
became members of the
Emmattuel United Church
during an impressive con-
firmation ceremony
Those taking their vows
were, Kevin and Paul
Lavery, Patrick Stumpf,
Steven and Jeffrey Consitt,
Mark and Paul Johnston,
Brian Horner, David,
Tracey, and Karen Erb and
Shannon Smale. Each one
was presented with a Bible
and certificate.
Good sale
A successful rummage
Sale was held on Saturday at
the home of Sharon Bullock
RR 1 Dashwood on behalf of
the Zurich Grand Bend
figure skating club. They are
also planning on having a pie
and coffee booth at the bean
estival this year.
See horse show
A group of 4 -Hers, leaders
and some parents from
Huron County travelled by
bus to Toronto last Saturday
to attend the Royal Red
Canadian national cham-
pionship arabian and half
arabian horse show.During
this show the group watched
purebred Arabian clamed
Muscat walk off with the
Yational Champion Stallion
title.
In the Saturday show the
Ridging was narrowed down
.o the top ten in their
•espective classes.
The 4-H group was seeing
the top calibre of horses -to be
shown during the week long
show, which ended with
Saturday nights show.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Luscher of Thedford with
their nephew Christian
Schlatter who is visiting
them from Schaffhauen
Switzerland spent this past
Wednesday with Ken and
Dorothy Breakey.
Jerome and Marie
Denomme attended the
Denomme reunion in Dublin
last Sunday on the holiday
week -end.
Jos and Bertha Pennings
from Holland are presently
spending three weeks
visiting with his brother and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Pennings.
Mr. Herb Wurm of
Evansburg Alberta and
nephew Albert Wurm of
Spedden Alberta along with
fiends are spending a
vacation with Herb's sister,
Mrs. Emma Schilbe. Also
joining them for a few days
was another sister, Mrs.
Luella Gossman from Port
Huron Michigan.
Joanne Bridle is enjoying a
holiday with her grand-
mother Gorwill in Seaforth.
Mr. and Mrs. Less
Usherwood and three
children from Toronto spent
four days over the "Canada"
week -end at their cottage
north of St. Joseph. (near the
church)
Andrew and Afida Rau
spent from Monday to
Thursday in Windsor at their
daughter's Suzanne, helping
her to redecorate and move
into a new apartment.
The ladies auxiliary of the
Blue Water Rest Home held
a short business meeting at
the home on July 1 with 13
ladies present. The main
object was preparing for the
hot dog booth, that will be at
the Bean festival on August
23. The group is also plan-
ning on selling quilt tickets
at the Zurich fair on July 19.
Miss Wilma Jacobs
daughter of John and Mary
Jacobs RR 1 Zurich is
presently spending two
weeks in Chapais Quebec as
an exchange student of
S.H.D.H.S. with Miss Janette
Jobin and her family. The
girls are to return by train
this week -end, where in turn
Jinette will spend two weeks
with Wilma and her family.
Don and Elaine
Beauchamp and Nicole
accompanied by Dave and
Janet Durand and children
motored to Niagara Falls for
three days this past week,
from Sunday to Wednesday.
Bob and Joanne Hartman
and family of Windsor spent
Saturday and Sunday with
his mother Mrs. Theresa
Hartman and all attended
the Fleming and Ferguson
wedding in Mt. Carmel.
Ed and Colleen Maki and
children of Windsor spent the
weekend in Zurich and
visited with some of her
aunts and uncles and cousins
(Colleen is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Clem Bedard)
The two childrenalso spent
a few days with their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Marinus Vermunt.
Michael and Yvonne
Hartman and family of.
Montreal are presently
spending a two week
vacationwith their mothers;
Mrs. Theresa Hartman and
Mrs. Juliette Denomme
along with relatives in the
area.
A good time was had by all
of us who attended the 25th
Wedding Anniversary and
dinner and dance at the
Pineridge Chalet on
Saturday in honor of Don and
Shirley Mousseau.
Madeline and Beth
Gelinas, Cathy Bardawill,
Jane Bedard and Brenda
Koehler all attended a baby
shower for Cathy Gelinas
last Wednesday evening in
London.
Saturday saw the first
Ducharme reunion which
was held at the home of Paul
and Dorothy Ducharme RR 1 -
Dashwood with many
relatives 110 in all, coming
from various places.
Mrs. Lydia Regier along
with several members of her
family attended the wedding
of her grandson, Leo Regier
in Beachburg on the holiday
weekend.
Paul and Nancy Charrette
and children of North
Carolina returned home the
previous Sunday after
spending a week with his
parents, Dennis and
Geraldine Charrette, and
helping them to celebrate
their 45th wedding an-
niversary.
Welcome back home to
Lorraine Schwartzentruber
who has been a patient in the
hospital for the past 61/2
