TOWN OF EXETER
PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED OF-
FICIAL PLAN AND ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Exeter will
hold a public meeting on January 31 1985, at 7:30 p.m. at South Huron Rec
Centre to consider a proposed Official Plan Amendments under Section 17
(2) of The Nanning Act. and proposed Zoning By-law Amendments under
Section 34 of the Planning Act.
The proposed Official Plan Amendment would change the Plan designa-
tion of various lands within the Town as a result of a five year review of
the Official Plan by the Town of Exeter. The Council feels that the proposed
land use changes are appropriate, and represent good land use planning
for the municipality. These Official Plan changes are noted on the attached
map entitled "Official Plan Amendments."
The proposed zoning amendments would then rezone the affected proper-
ties from their present zoning to be in conformity with the proposed Of-
ficial Plan changes. These changes are noted on the attached map entitled
"Zoning By-law Amendments".
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or ver-
bal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Of-
ficial Plan and Zoning Amendments.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed Official Plan Amend-
ments and proposed Zoning By-law Amendments is available at the
municipal offices during normal buisness hours.
The location of the public meeting is the South Huron Recreation Centre,
at 94 Victoria Street East, Exeter, Ontario.

about 60 years ago we had no
winter. He and his father pull-

ground in the bush in late
January and planted a hedge,
and every tree grew.
There is a fair amount of
activity at the Sports Corn-
plex, with some people enjoy-
ing shuffleboard on Wednes-
day nights and fitness classes
on Monday and Wednesday
mornings 'and evenings.
Volleyball was scheduled for
Thursday nights, but a pro-

too slippery from the wax us-
ed for dances and
shuffleboard.

parties are getting underway
on Friday nights. Alternating
as usual with the Oddfellows

Dear Sir,
George Galloway of the
British charity War on Want
has reported that he and
British television crews have
witnessed evident of "a huge
misappropriation Of Western
foal aid In F:thiopia.••
Galloyvay. who is just back
from Ethiopia reports seeing
hundreds of hags of Cana-
dian. German and American
skim milk Ilial have been
smuggled across the border
into the Sudan and sold. Cor-
rupt officials of Ethiopia s
Marxist government have
stolen the food Canada sent
them for their own hungry
people and are profiteering
from its sale. Galloway has
revealed that Canadian grain
is being made into biscuits
that are later sold.
This misuse of ('anadiar
aid. sad to say. was entirely
predictable. Citizens for
Foreign Aid Reform has urg-
ed the Canadian goverment
not to go overboard. Past ex-
perience with government -to -
government aid has not been
a happy one in Ethiopia. The
Ethiopian government is
Marxist. brutal. and hopeless-
ly corrupt. Over the past
several years, there have
been numerous reports of
foodid being stolen and sold
by Ethiopian officials. As
well, grain sent form the
European Economic Com-
munity was transferred at
dockside and sent to the
Soviet Union to pay for guns.
The sad reality is that
government aid to Ethiopia is
merely keeping in power the
tyrants and corrupt officials
who are at least partly to
blame for the famine. Canada
should crease government -to -
government aid to Ethiopia
and put the $25 million or so
thereby saved toward reduc-
ing the hugh federal deficit.
Aid of the sort we have been
giving merely rips off the
Canadian taxpayer a nd
enriches some corrupt Ethio-
pian official.
Sincerely yours
Paul Fromm.
