Times Advocate, 1984-12-19, Page 44CHRISTMAS
By Lori Parker
Grade 7, Usborne Central
Christmas is the new fallen
snow,
And children faces all aglow.
Toys and all kinds of candy,
In our stockings, they taste so
dandy.
Santa Claus and his round
belly,
When he walks it shakes like
jelly.
But most important of all.
When Christ was born in a
stall.
Three, wise men came from
a far.
They followed the light, of the
guiding star.
In Bethlehem they came to
stay,
They found the babe upon the
hay.
CHRISTMAS IS....
Grade 7, Usborne Central
Christmas is the thought•of
many years ago;
Where Jesus was being born,
Christmas is not the time to
mourn;
Cause on Christmas there is
tots to do.
Christmas is opening presents
and stockings,
And is a Joly snowman;
and on Christmas no man,
likes havingt alot of work.

Christmas is the dinner,
and playing games and being
the winner;
Christmas is for the oranges,
fudge, candycanes,
and much much more.
Christmas is -the pine tree,
and the children that have
glee;
Christmas is snow and light,
and candles and trove.
WREATH
By Staci Martin
Huron Centennial - Grade 3
They are made up of lots
and lots of leaves. Wreaths
are shaped round. Wreaths
are always colourful. They
are nice decorations, I think
wreaths are a kind of
Christmas trees.
CANDY CANE
By Samanta Scott
Huron Centennial - Grade 3
It is a pretty candy cane. If
you turn a candy cane upside
down it looks like a pipe. I can
decorate a candy cane so it
looks pretty. I can hang it oil.
a Christmas tree. A candy
cane is red green white and
taste great but Christmas is
the best time I can hardly
wait.
DEAR SANTA
Dear Santa: .
How is it at the North Pole?
Is the wether .good? Is
Rudolph shining up his nose
for Christmas eve? Up here
we are getting a little bit of
snow. Are the eleves working
hard for Christmas eve? I
hope you didn't eat a lot of
cookies. So you can't get down
the chimney. We are going to
leave the Christmas tree on
for you and some cookies for
you and carrotos for the
raindeer. How is Mrs. Claus?
I hope you have a nice
Christmas.
Love Kerri Barraclough
Huron Centennial - Grade 3
P.S. Tell Rudolph to shin up
his nose up.
CHRISTMAS TIME
By Susan Selves
Grade 7, Osborne Central
Christmas Time is here
again,
It comes but once a year,
We know it's Jesus' birthday,
So let's all clap and cheer.
Christmas Time is filled with
joy,
With holly and with fun,
0 gives the Christmas spirit,
To you and everyone.
Christmas Time will soon be
gone,
And then we'll say goodbye,
To all our relatives and
friends,
Then all the fun shall die.
CHRISTMAS EVE
By Brent McDonald
Exeter 1'.5., (;rade t3
Christmas was just a few
hours away,
When 1 set out milk and
cookies so Santa would
stay.
i snuggled up in my favorite
chair,
Hoping when I woke up he'd
be there.
Snoozing peacefully 1 heard
the sound of a toot,
Turning my head, i saw a
than all covered in soot.
He shook off the soot and
cleaned his boot,
He laid some presents under
the' tree,
There were so many he
could've been on a spree.
1 grabbed the Polaroid to get
a shot of him,
Then he touched his nose and
he was up the chimney
again.
And as I looked out at the
moon,
1 heard a jolly Christmas
tune.
As he rode away, out of sight
The song put me to sleep for
the night.
AN UNUSUAL
PRESENT
By Cindy Maines
Exeter P.S., (;rade 8
Christmas morning came
very quickly. Hilly came run-
ning down the stairs to see a
great big heap of presents.
Santa had come.
Billy saw a big present with
his name on it. It was wrap-
ped in red paper with a green
bow. Ile ripped the red paper
off and in the box was a pre-
▪ sent no one could take their
eyes off.
There lay a pair of golden
shoes, just Billy's size. 13illy
had always wanted to be a
dancer and these were the
perfect shoes for it. Billy put
on the shoes and danced
around the room. Billy was a
star, the biggest star ever. Ile
had magic shoes, a magic
idea and a magic Christmas!

Have a Safe Holiday
Your police deportment wish for you a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New

Remember the festive season is fast approaching and at this time of year don't
forget your family. If you hove too much to drink, DON'T DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE.
Call a taxi or ask someone for assistance. With the new laws in regards to the
Breothalizer tests, drinking and driving con become very costly and a punishment
such as a jail term and the loss of your licence con be imposed. BE MUCH WISER
- DON'T GET CAUGHT BY THE BREATHALIZER.
