CHRISTMAS DAY • By Dean Pfaff Stephen Central -Grade 6 Children are very happy }laving fun and everybody is joyful Rejoicing that Christ was born. I liked the presents I got from Santa and my relatives. Santa had given many presents Time to be together. Many people give presents to other people. A lot of people get together. So many people in the world remember the day Christ was horn. Dad likes the present we gave hint. At 5:00 p.m. we cat a chicken for Christmas dinner. Yesterday we had Tots of fun at our house Santa got one hundred let- ters from Scrooge and he didn't know what to give him. Santa finally thought it was time to go to bed. He would know what to give Scrooge in the morning. The next day everyone was running into everyone else gettng ready for the big night. Santa had to check his list twice to make sure everyone would get a present. Santa would give all the elves a week off. Mrs. Claus had to wash and iron Santa's suit before tonight. I was in the afternoon all the elves were busy packing the toys and putting them in the sleigh. This year there would be a heavy load so Santa would need all his reindeer to help him on the long way. Santa loaded the blankets on the sleigh because it gets cold in the night. It was 2:05 almost everyone was getting tired now but there still was pack- ing to be done. Some of the elves were packing dolls and trains, dogs and books. Santa couldn't belive all the things, the children wanted. Santa still didn't know what to give Scrooge. Finally he knew, a new born puppy to keep him happy so he wouldn't ask for much. Mrs. Claus suggested Santa to have a rest. She would do his work. Santa lay down in his bed. He didn't know what the weather would be. Rainy, CHRISTMAS TREE By Pat Arts St. Patrick's. Meanwhile Mrs. Claus was washing her glasses when Brownie came up behind her and told her he was tired. He scared her and she drop- ped her glasses. "Brownie elfe you scared me! "I just told you I was tired Mrs. Claus! "Get out of my way and leave me alone! "The rest of the elves were still packing dolls and traings in Santa's sacks. Santa told all the elves it was coffee break, so all 'the elves went running as fast as they could to get a chair. While they were running, they knocked over all the toys. Santa was mad because more work would have to be done. Santa told all the elves what had happened. Santa was in a bad mood for the night. Some of the elves that didn't get a chair started to stack up the toys that had fallen. Everything was a total mess. The elves that had a chair were laughing because the others had to clean up. Mean while Mrs. Claus was making a warm supper for Santa, so he would be warm and full. Santa Claus started to help the elves clean up the toys becauase he didn't want to be late. Finally the bell rang it was sup* time. Everyone was hungry. Mrs. Claus ask- ed which of the four elves cleaned up, because she gave them more to eat. All the other elves wished that they had helped clean up and not been so greedy. While they were eating everyone was talking about tonight, for tonight is Christmas Eve. Everyone thought tonight would be a good night because it was warm. Now everyone was done supper. Three elves helped Mrs. Claus clean up CHIRSTMAS IS... By David Ward Grade 5. Many social and personal customs undergo changes and are criticized as obsolete and void of purpose. Funeral customs and directors have not escaped these critics. However, these very criticisms have given strength to the tradition of funeral service, because it has caused the public to think seriously about the purpose of the funeral. The funeral provides, of course, for the proper disposition of the body. It also provides a ser- vice of love and caring for the living, those who place value in life and pay respect to the dignity of mon. The funeral is generally a basic religious rite just as the the baptism and the marriage ceremony. It provides a time for friends, neighbors and associates to express group sup- port and compassion for the bereaved. The funeral director is professionally trained to provide a compassionate and understanding service during the difficult emotional ex- perience of death. We are at your service, whenever needed.
