The youths will be placed on farms with the idea that they will be willing to do farm tasks such as cleaning barns, feeding livestock, keeping records, operating machinery and general maintenance. Eligible farmers must be farming a commercial opera- tion and interested in training a youth during the winter months. Horticultural and agricultural businesses are also included. The youth receives as wages, $4.00 per hour based on a 40 -hour work week. The host farmer contributes $2.00 per hour toward the youth's wages.
