The senior cagers travelled to Regina Mundt, Friday, for their first tournament match versus Parkhill. After defeating the Parkhill team earlier in the week the seniors found themselves on the short side of a 63-58 score in their tournament meeting. Scott Lovie led the locals in scoring with 18 points and was followed by Brian Topp with 14 points. Scott Miller and Scot Merrylees each added seven while Hob Tait and Dave Gratton each scored six to round off the scoring. The Panthers took control of that game's tempo early in the first quarter, taking the play to the West Elgin squad. The locals found themselves up 20 points before the end of regulation play to claim the consolation title. Rob Tait and Brian Topp were the game's high scorers with 16 points and nine re- bounds each. Scott Lovie and Miller added ten and eight points respectively. In exhibition play earlier in the week the senior cagers defeated Parkhill in a close 68-66 game. The local juniors were not nearly as successful, losing to a much taller oppo- nent, 64-20. Eight players figured in on • the scoring for the seniors against Parkhill Tait and Topp led the way with 18 and 13 points respectively. Stephen Merner scored 11 while Lovie and Scott Miller added eight points each. Dalton Ford was the top local scorer in the one sided junior match up. Ford scored six points, Bill Vanderworp and Trevor Ratz added four each in the loss. Both cage teams are idle until they play host to St. Pats, Monday, for exhibition play. The games kick off at 4:00 at the school. BRONCOS TiE The Exeter atom Broncos gained a tie in three Shamrock hockey league starts this week. Friday, they held Lambeth to a 3-3 tie, Saturday they were blanked 3-0 by Lucan and Sunday they dropped a 7-5 decision to Parkhill. Joel Smith was the leading light for the Broncos in the 3-3 tie with Iambeth. He scored one goal and added two assists. The other markers were chalked up by Fred God - bolt and Jason Heywood. Greg Boshart, Scott Smith and Paul O'Shea were the Lucan marksmen in the 3-0 win over Exeter. Jason Heywood was the scoring leader for the Broncos in the loss to Parkhill. Ile fired one goal on an unassisted effort and finished off a three-way passing effort with Ryan Lindenfield and Paul Charrette.
