The SHDHS senior boy
basketball team en oyed
very successful week on th
court, winning another exhibi
tion match and emerging con
solation winners at a tourny
over the weekend.
The senior cagers travelled
to Regina Mundt, Friday, for
their first tournament match
versus Parkhill. After
defeating the Parkhill team
earlier in the week the seniors
found themselves on the short
side of a 63-58 score in their
tournament meeting.
Scott Lovie led the locals in
scoring with 18 points and was
followed by Brian Topp with
14 points. Scott Miller and
Scot Merrylees each added
seven while Hob Tait and
Dave Gratton each scored six
to round off the scoring.
The loss to Parkhill put the
Panthers into the consolation
side of the tourney where they
met Norwich.

The Panthers took control
of that game's tempo early in
the first quarter, taking the
play to the West Elgin squad.
The locals found themselves
up 20 points before the end of
regulation play to claim the
consolation title.
Rob Tait and Brian Topp
were the game's high scorers
with 16 points and nine re-
bounds each. Scott Lovie and
Miller added ten and eight
points respectively.
In exhibition play earlier in
the week the senior cagers
defeated Parkhill in a close
68-66 game. The local juniors
were not nearly as successful,
losing to a much taller oppo-
nent, 64-20.
Eight players figured in on
• the scoring for the seniors
against Parkhill Tait and
Topp led the way with 18 and
13 points respectively.
Stephen Merner scored 11
while Lovie and Scott Miller
added eight points each.
Dalton Ford was the top
local scorer in the one sided
junior match up. Ford scored
six points, Bill Vanderworp
and Trevor Ratz added four
each in the loss.
Both cage teams are idle
until they play host to St.
Pats, Monday, for exhibition
play. The games kick off at
4:00 at the school. Spectators
are invited to come and cheer
the Panthers on in what is
very entertaining basketball.

Friday, they held Lambeth
to a 3-3 tie, Saturday they
were blanked 3-0 by Lucan
and Sunday they dropped a
7-5 decision to Parkhill.
Joel Smith was the leading
light for the Broncos in the 3-3
tie with Iambeth. He scored
one goal and added two
assists. The other markers
were chalked up by Fred God -
bolt and Jason Heywood.

Lucan marksmen in the 3-0
win over Exeter.

and your 1985 Municipal and School Taxes
Regional Offices located throughout Ontario are responsible for assessing all real
property for the purposes of municipal and school taxation.
The resulting Assessment Rolls are delivered to municipalities which use them
to set their mill rates and compute municipal property tax bills.
The amount of property tax you pay on your home or business depends on the
assessed value and the mill rate set by your municipality. The assessed value
multiplied by the mill rate will determine your 1985 property taxes.

Property owners and tenants will receive an
Assessment Notice only if information
regarding their property or assessment was
changed during the past year, if the assess-
ment was appealed last year, or if the prop-
erty has been reassessed under section 63
of the Assessment Act. If you receive an
Assessment Notice, it may reflect changes you
have requested in your school support designa-

Appeal Procedure
If, after attending your local Open House, you
are still dissatisfied with your assessment, you
have a right to appeal it to the Assessment
Review Board. The Assessment Review Board
conducts informal hearings and is responsible
for determining whether the assessment under
appeal is fair and equitable with the assess-
ments of similar properties in the vicinity or
neighbourhood, and may alter your assess-
ment accordingly.
Appeal Deadline
The final date for appealing your assessment
is January 9, 1985.
Your appeal must be forwarded, either on a
Notice of Appeal Fdrm or as a letter, to the
Regional Registrar of the Assessment Review
Board on or before January 9, 1985, noting your
property address, Roll Number and the reason
for the appeal.
To assist you in this regard, Notice of Appeal
forms and the address of the Regional Regis-
trar of the Assessment Review Board are avail-
able at your Regional Assessment Office, or
your municipal office.
