Hensall Bantams begin season by besting Lucan; family season passes now available

The Hensall Bantam
Hockey Team started their
schedule on a positive note
Friday December 23 when
they beat Lucan No. 1 by a
score'of 12-1. Brian Moir led
his team to victory by scoring
seven goals and assisting two
others. Rob Taylor followed
with two goals, 3 assists.
Jim Dickens, Chris Camp-
bell and John Roosenboom
each connected with one goal.
The next game is to be held
Dec. 5 when the boys will host
Huron Park. Game time is
8:30.
Minor Hockey are still sell-
ing chocolate bars and
covered almonds. Be sure to
get your holiday candy before
it is gone. It Is available from
any minor hockey player.
Family Season passes are

Carmel Presbyterian
Rev. Kenneth Knight con-
ducted the worship service in
Carmel Presbyterian Church
on Sunday. Miss Carolyn
Love presided at the organ
and led the choir in the ser-
vice of song. The P.C.W. will
hold their Christmas meeting
on December 3 at 12:30. It will
be a pot luck dinner followed
by the Christmas meeting

Goderich and Brussels Lodge
on Wednesday evening with
Vice Grand Lois Jones
presiding assisted by Ruby
Bell, Past Noble Grand. The
visitors were received follow-
ed by the Roll Call of officers.
Lois Jones reported for the
visiting committee. Marg Up -
shall reported for Financial
statement.
The Christmas party will be
held on December 5 with the
exchange of gifts when the
Secret Sisters will be reveal-
ed. The history of the Lodge
was discussed and Leona
Parke offered some books she
had with early history. A pot
luck lunch will follow the
Christmas party. "Happy bir-
thday" was sung to Leona
Parke. Bingo Euchre was
played following the meeting
.Unit 11 U.C.W.
Unit 2 Hensall U.C.W. held
their meeting recently. Jean
Wareing welcomed everyone
and opened with a poem. Jean
also led the Devotional using
"Meditation" from Psalms
and the Theme "Making
Decisions". The roll call was
answered by 12 members
with a household hint. Project
Money of -.201 for every
meeting missed during the
year was given.
Unit Leader Kay Mock con-
ducted the business. Church
Calendars will sell for $2.00.
U.C.W. General Meeting Dec.
3 at 8 p.m. business at 7:30
p.m. Unit II to decorate the
Church for advent Season.
Next meeting in Dec. for
Unit II the lunch will be in the
form of paper bag lunch and
gifts for Secret pals to the
value of $3.00 will be
exchanged.

Hensall United Church
The Junior Choir, assisted
by the Senior Choir, led the
minlstry of music at the
United Church on Sunday
morning. The Junior choir
sang two anthems "It's A
Miracle"and "Kids Under
Construction" both anthems
by William J. Gaither.
Ushers for the day were
Jeff Corbett, Steven Corbett,
John Rowcliffe and Cacti Pep-
per. Loretta Riley greeted the
congregation.
Mr. McDonald spoke on the
subject of Love Steadfast and
Enduring, taking the basis of
his thoughts from Psalm 107.

The Morning Bible Study
Fellowship completed their
fall session on Thursday mor -
ning. The group have been
studying, under the leader-
ship of Mr. McDonald, "Ques-
tions That Jesus Asked" The
series ended with a
Fellowship Luncheon in the
Fellowship Hall of the church.
The young Teens met on
Friday evening in the United
Church for their discussion
evening with an excellent at-
tendance. The discussion on
the subject of "Getting to
Know Oneself" was led by

Sharon Wurm assisted by
Pam Mallette. For recreation
the group enjoyed a game of
crokinole and Diane
Lawrence and Pam Mallette
were in charge of the
refreshments.
Active week at Queensway
Monday was Bingo Day
held at Queensway Nursing
home. We were joined by the
ladies from the Bethel
Reformed Church, who also
lead us in a sing -song.
Rev. Robert Matheson
from the Thames Road
Church conducted our Tues-
day afternoon worship ser-
vice. Mrs. Rhoda Rohde
assisted him on the piano. On
Tuesday evening the
Lakeview Conservative youth
Group sang for us.
On Wednesday afternoon
the ladies from the Zurich
Mennonite Church assisted us
in making Christmas decora-
tions. When the Christmas
trees and wreaths were
finished we sang carols.
On Thursday we hosted a
Games Party for Hensall's
Seniors Citizens's Dave and
Mildred Kyle and Jack Sim-
mons entertained us with
some old-time music. We
would like to thank all our
guest for making the day so
enjoyable.
Friday afternoon was spent
watching the movie "Coral"
which depicted the training of
horses. We also played a few
rounds of crokinole and
checkers.

mother Mrs. Jack Corbett.
Mrs. Laird Mickle and Mrs.
Sim Roobol visited Tuesday
afternoon last week with Mrs.

4177;,..... HURON PIONEER MUSEUM QUESTIONNAIRE
The restoration of the Huron County Pioneer Museum, in
Goderich, has been recommended to Huron County
Council at an estimated reconstruction cost of
52,137,520.00, and has been referred to all local
municipalities for their comment$.
To restore the Museum in Goderich, it would cost the
Village of Hensall an estimated $6,165. per year for five
years for a total of $30,825. Based on an average
residential assessment of 2500, this would cost the
homeowner approximately $7 to $8 a year for five years.
Hensall Council would appreciate receiving the views
and comments of the ratepayers in .Hensall in order to
express an opinion based on community input. Please
forward your views by completing the following.

completed by December 31, by any organization wishing to nominate
individuals to receive volunteer service awards.
Organizations are eligible to nominate volunteers with a minimun of 5 years
