Next come the Itchy Niters 33, A -Team 30 and Snyde and Clyde 29. Individually, Irene Jackson has the high score for ladies with 164. Tied for top spot for the men with 140 each are Don Heywood, Eric Heywood, Cliff McDonald and Wayne Parkinson. Most game winners are Barb Hearn at 14 and Joe Bailey with 22. Best in takeout are Harvey Hillman with 99 and Julie Higgins at 65. For spare darters, Duff Rothbauer leads with a high score of 135 and most games at 12. Kevin Nixon has. the most takeouts with 78. For the ladies, Thea Rothbauer has the high score of 135, Kate Bierling has 58 takeouts and Dorothy Reynolds has nine games. T -A photo Irish split with Seaforth The Lucan Irish and the Seaforth Centenaires split a pair of OHA Junior "D" games this week with each team winning on home ice. The Irish won Wednesday's contest 8-6 in Lucan and the Centenaires were on the right end of a 3-1 score, Friday at home. The Irish will be at home at the Lucan Community Centre tonight, Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. to take on the league leading Tavistock Braves and Friday they travel to Exeter to meet the Hawks. The Irish are currently in third place in the northern group standings with six wins, eight losses and two ties in 16 starts. In Wednesday's victory, the Irish started off with a 3-1 lead after the first period of play and were never caught by the Seaforth club. In the middle frame, Steve Glenn and captain Rob Mohawks win fourth of year The Exeter Mohawks won their fourth game of the young Western Ontario Athletic Association hockey season Friday night with a close 4-3 win over the St. Clements Saints. The same two clubs will be back at the South Huron Rec Centre Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. to engage in a rematch. In St. Clements Friday, the Mohawks jumped into a 3-1 first period lead and were able to hang on despite a shor- thanded St. Clements goal in each of the second and third periods. The game was only 24 seconds old when Jeff Fuller put the Mohawks on tt.e scoreboard on a three-way passing combination with Terry Caldwell and Dave Kinsman. Five minutes later the score was 2-0 as Pete Tuckey hit the St. Clements net on passes from Kinsman and Caldwell. Later in the period, Carl Miller notched the first St. Clements goal and Jeff Fuller replied for the Mohawks with assists going to Rick Linden - field and Pete Tuckey. Both goals came on power plays. In the third period, each team scored one goal, both by number nines. Brian Mercer hit for the Mohawks on a pass from Ed Willis and Jim McDermott was the St. Clements marksman on a solo dash. The unveiling of the 813.000 Limited Edition Aspencade, the most expensive produc- tion motorcycle to come out of Japan, headlined the 85 lineup of motorcycles. The Endurance race was something else as over 80 two, three and four wheelers challenged the five mile course through the Stanley Everglades Brent Van Moorsel, Mit- chell and Rick Saul. Camlachie shared the honours in the ATV division while Scott Hepburn, St. Thomas and Steve Collins. Brownsville won the motorcy- cle division. Over a quarter million dollars in motorcycles entered the "Best Dressed Wing Contest" with the top prize of 8500 going to Ken Nauman. Baden, followed closely by Ben Geleynse and Alan Hiemstra. both of London. A very warm weekend helped to make [fully Gully's Sneak Preview a success. Over 1,000 motorcyclist en- thusiasts viewed 1985 motorcycles. Thirlwall registered for the Irish with assists going to Mark Bannon, Scott Balazs and Jesse Crawford. The final 20 minutes of play saw Jeff Hodgins, Rob Thirlwall and Steve Glenn count for Lucan with Mark Bannon getting two assists and Scott Balazs and Brent Bannerman each getting single assists. Jim Campbell and Pat Mur- ray each scored two goals for Seaforth. Scoring in single fashion were Rob Core and Mark Mcllwain. In Seaforth Friday, the lone Lucan goal came from the stick of Brent Bannerman on a power play with Scott Balazs getting the only assist. Brent Miran led the Exeter scoring attack with a four goal performance. Next with two goals apiece were Jason Wein and Kevin Johns. Scor- ing in single fashion were Mark McDonald and Brian Tuck. Assisting were Jeremy Brock was the top playmaker with two assists while mark McDonald, Allen McFalls and ramie Rolph each picked up ne assist. The loneHensallgoal came om the stick of Rick Albert on a pass from Mike Jones. Bantams Win Two The Exeter bantams gain- ed two victories in three Shamrock hockey league games this week. They doubl- ed the score 6-3 on Mitchell, blanked Strathroy 4-0 and dropped a 7-6 decision to Strathroy. Rob McLelland's second goal of the night in the third period allowed the Exeter club to edge Mitchell 4-3. Dave Dalrymple and Jamie Bedard assisted. The first McLelland score came on a 'play started by Bedard and captain Dave O'Connor. The other Exeter goals were notched by Mark Burton and Todd McCann with Tim van Dam assisting on both and Al Blommaert and Mark Burton getting single assists. The only Exeter goal in the loss to St. Marys was fired by Steve Dubarry on an unassisted effort. Getting St. Marys goals were Scott Smale, Mark McEwan, Ray Cousineau and Dan Schiedel. In the win over Mitchell, Jon O'Connor and Steve Lingard were tops in the scor- ing department for Exeter with two successful shots apiece. O'Connor and Shawn Gullet led the playmakers with three assists each. Jeff Hannah was next with two helping passes and Mark Coward, Scott Bell, Jeff Kints and Doug Clark each gained single assists. Four different players shared in the scoring in the 4-0 win over Strathroy. Pulling the triggers were captain Jon O'Connor, Tom Ralph, Jeff Kints and Steve Anderson. O'Connor and Larry Lewis each helped to set up two scores and getting single assists were Tom Rolph, Doug Clark and Jeff Hannah. Fred Gregus was in goal to get credit for the shutout. The 7-6 loss in Strathroy came in a game which was close from start to finish. The Exeter club came within one goal with 43 seconds to go, but failed to get the equalizer. Captain Jon O'Connor again led the locals scoring with a tour goal effort. He also pick- ed up one assist. The other Exeter goals were fired by Mark Coward and Tom Rolph. Shawn Moore and Scott Bell were tops in the assist department with two apiece. Getting single assists were Larry Lewis and Jeff Hannah. Pee Wees Win Twice In three outings this week, the Exeter pee wees were able to come up with a pair of victories. Monday in an ex- hibition game, the pee wees downed Hensall 9-1, Wednes- day they edged Mitchell 4-3 and Thursday they were on the short end of a 4-1 score to St. Marys. In the victory over Hensall, Rob McLelland led the Exeter scoring with a four goal ef- fort. Dave Dalrymple was next with two successful shots and Jamie Bedard, Herten Tinney and Tim Van Dam scored in single fashion. Tinney, Steve Dubarry and Dave O'Connor were best in the passing department with two assists each. Helping one goal apiece were Rob McLelland, Jamie Bedard and Tim van Dam. Scoring for Hensall was Brad Mount on a pass from Chris Gardner. Broncos win three The Exeter Broncos won three of four games in an atom tournament in Har- riston on the weekend. They dropped a 3-2 decision to Kincardine and then went on to defeat Sullivan township 5-4, Mount Forest 7-3 and Palmerston 2-1. In the loss to Kincardine, Steve Farquhar and Jeff Lingard were the Exeter marksmen on passes from Jason Heywood and Ryan Stuart. It was one of the best played games of the season and the winning Kincardine goal came in overtime. Jason Heywood's second goal of the game on a pass from Joel Smith sent the game into overtime. His other score came on an unassisted effort. The other Exeter goals also on solo dashes came from the sticks of Ryan Stuart and Ryan Lindenfield. In the win over Mount Forest, Jason Heywood and Joel Smith led the Exeter scoring attack with two goals apiece. Scoring in single fashion were Brad Thompson, Steve Farquhar and Fred Steciuk. Midgets lose In their only start this week in the Shamrock minor hockey league, the Exeter midgets dropped a 5-2 deci- sion to Strathroy. The first Exeter goal came in the first period from the stick of Chris Tiedeman on a pass from Bud Richardson. In the second session, Richard- son was the successful shooter on a three-way effort with Tiedeman and Tim Moore.
