degree into the Knights of Col-

which is starting its own coun-

A very interesting meeting
was had by the ladies aux-

November 6 with 29 members
and two visitors.
The main topic of the
meeting was preparing for
the bazaar.

are enjoing some bowling

November at the local lanes
with each classroom taking
their turn twice, as part of
physical education.

rive! of their third baby, a
boy. This is the third grand-
child for Gus and Bella Sou -
dant, RR 1 Zurich and grand-

The hunting season is upon
us again, and a group of men
spent last week in the Perry
Sound area enjoying the sport
and coming back with two
deer. Those along on the trip
were Richard Schilbe and Al
Beange (who bagged the
deer) and Bob Merner and
Bob Johnston, Hubert
Schilbe, Bill Merner, Doug
O'Brien, Harvey Clausius,
Morris Webb, Glen Koehler
and John Gibbons.
We offer our sincere sym-
pathy to Urban Pfile on the
sudden death of his wife
Valera, who passed away on
Sunday.
Leo, Sandi and Peter
McCarron spent last Tuesday
and Wednesday with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis
Gingerich.
Mrs. Martha Heywood of
Wingham spent a few days
the previous week visiting
with her sisters Gertie
Fleischauer and Verlyn
Fisher, and attended the sur-
prise retirement party for
Gertie on November 4.
It's nice to see that Paul
and Shirley Bedard are
celebrating their 10th an-
niversary at the Shaws store.
We wish them many more
successful years in the
business.
Congratulations to Harvey
and Edith Hohner who recent-
ly celebrated their 45th wed-
ding anniversary on October
21. A get-together was held for
the couple on October 27 at
the Hay tonwship hall where
a social time playing cards
and visiting was had by all.
A money tree was
presented to them along with
other gifts. A delicious lunch
was served.

and Margaret Scotchmer who
celebrated their 50th anniver-
sary on October 28 with an
Open House for friends and
relatives at the United Church
in Bayfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gra-
inger spent from the previous
Thursday to Monday with
their daughter Phyllis and
Jim Ramer and three grand-
children in Avon, New York.
Allen and RoseMary Scott
and boys spent a few days in
New Liskeard this past week
and attended the funeral of
Allen's father who passed
away on Saturday. We offer
the Scott family our
sympathy.
Mrs. Roberta Robertson
recently returned home to
Vancouver afterspending 10
days visiting with her parents
Joy and Jim Hogg and sisters
Debbie Denomme and Lesley
Jeffrey and families. While
here she also visited with
relatives in Hamilton, Kit-
chener and Toronto.
Larry, Debbie. Bryan and
Matthew Denonunespent last
weekend with friends Dave
and Carolyn Stark in
Windsor.
Dan, Carrie and Tiffany
Eybergen of Waterloo spent
Saturday and Sunday with
her parents Jerome and
Carmel Sweeney and family.
Nap and Laurene Cor-
riveau returned home on
Thursday safe and sound
after a very nice 17 -day vaca-
tion. They flew to San Fran-
cisco Bay and spent a week
with her sister Ann and
Gerald Primrose and family,
then spent the rest of the time
with their son, Peter Cor-
riveau in California and
rented a car to travel around
to see different places of in-
terest in the area.

and Alida Rau who celebrated
their 40th wedding anniver-
sary on Saturday, November
10 beginning with Mass at
2:30 p.m. at St. Boniface
church when they were
presented with the Papal
Blessing. A delicious family
dinner at Hessenland follow-
ed. In the evening approx-
imately 300 invited friends
and relatives attended a
reception in their honor at the
Stanleyrownship complex in
Varna and enjoyed dancing to
Southern Pride's Band. Those
attending were from Windsor,
Detroit, London, Brampton
and Zurich area.
Happy birthday to Paul
Bedard Jr. who celebrated his
16th year last week.
Best wishes for a speedy
recovery is extended to Deb-
bie Overholt (Steven) who is
a patient in University
Hospital. She is expected
home soon but has to return
later for more surgery.

Geoffrey attended the funeral
of their brother-in-law Paul
Scharrette (husband of
Florence Geoffrey) in
Detroit, Michigan this past
