with Mrs. James Barnes who
is a patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London. Lorna had
a baby girl born on Sept-
ember 22. Also visiting her
were Mr. and Mrs. Rick
Davidson, RR 4 Thedford and
some of her friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Glan-
ville, Bayfield visited Satur-
day with Mrs. Stan
Preszcator and Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Glanville, RR 1
Exeter.
Mrs. Bill Hack, Granton
spent Thursday with her
sister Mrs. Don Finkbeiner,
RR 2 Crediton.

Saturday.

tended the Parkhill Fair on
the weekend.
The Ecumenical meeting
for Thanksgiving will be held
in the United Church 'Tues-
day, October 9th at 8 p.m.

The second meeting of
Grand Bend No. 2 4-11 club
was held at leader Joan
Love's home, September 17.
President, Susan Hayter
opened the meeting with the
411 pledge. Patti Love,
secretary, called the roll
which was answered by five
members. Each one com-
mented on the breakfast dish
that had been prepared at
home. Other business was
discussed.
The club name chosen was
"Food and Fitness Freaks".
Corn chowder and pita bread
with alfalfa sprouts, tomato
and cheese filling were made
and enjoyed. Members learn-
ed how to determine their
percentage of body fat. After
each had her measurements
taken, she calculated the
percentage.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Stone had a birthday party for
their daughter Marion
Donkervoort Sunday. John
(her husband) and son
Richard also attended. Other
guests included Ron and Nan-
cy Stone of London.

The fall rally of Stratford -
Huron Presbyterial will be
held October 9 in St. Andrews
Church, Stratford. This is the
100th anniversary of Stratford
Presbyterial and afternoon
and evening sessions will be
held at 2 o'clock and 7:45
respectively. Supper will be
available at Knox Church. Ar-
ticles for the home in Exeter
are to he ready by the next
meeting. The offering in Oc-
tober will be designated for
Armagh.
Alice Gardiner was in
charge of the study book and
greeted each member as she
arrived with an African
greeting and proverb. For the
special number, the members
learned an African hymn.

The Lutheran Women's
Missionary Convention was
held at the Victoria Inn, Strat-
ford, September 21 and 22
with about 1,000 in atten-
dance. Mrs. Harry Hayter
and Mrs. Delmar Miller were
delegates from Zion Lutheran
LWML and Rachel Mellecke
was a page girl. Dr. Ed
Westcott was the guest
speaker.
Seniors
Dashwood Senior Citizens
held the first meeting of the
fall Monday, September 17
with the president Mrs. Eben
Weigand presiding. The roll
call was answered by 44
members and five visitors.
Mrs. Weigand introduced
Mrs. Irene Davis, president of
Zone 8, who spoke briefly and
later installed the new of-
ficers. The Fall Rally will be
in Dashwood October 4 at 1
p.m.
The new officers are: presi-
dent, Mrs. Ross Love; first
vice-president, Mrs. Alma
Genttner; second, ()scar
Pfaff; secretary -treasurer,
Mrs. Elda Koehler; assistant,
Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan;
trustees, Mervyn Tiernan,
Emil Becker and Frans
Boogemans. The trustees are
in charge of planting a maple
tree at the Medical Centre.
Shuffleboard will be played
October 9 at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Margaret Carroll's
group was in charge of the
program. Mrs. Mildred
Kellerman gave a reading on
the Bicentennial. A men's
quartet, Jack Gaiser, Mervyn
Tiernan, Harry Hoffman and
Stanley Haist, sang two
numbers. Mrs. Carroll gave a
reading "Go ask Papa". Mrs.
Florence Martene read
"Anyone will do". Harry
Hoffman, Mrs. Ken McCrae.
Jack Gaiser and Stanley
Haist played instrumentals.
Mrs. Louis Weigand gave two
readings. Euchre and lunch
followed
Mrs. Elda Koehler has
returned home following a
month's stay with her
daughter and family Edward
and Anne Nagle, Susan and
Chris Baynham.
The men and women from
the 14th concession known as
the Sodbusters and the better
half attended Forest Fair and
both won in the tug-of-war
contest.

Rader attended the Tilmans-
Gamble wedding at Our
Saviour Lutheran Church,
London, Saturday. The bride
is their niece.
