Students entering the con- test must submit an 81::" by 11" poster to the Grand Bend library c/o G.B. Concert Association, Box 117, Grand Bend, NOM 1TO. The use of the logo will be at the discretion of the judges and will become the property of the Associa- tion. There will be a prize of $20.00 plus a free series ticket for this year's six concerts. Local youths will benefit from the concert series other than in the contest also. At least 24 high school students ages 13-17, will receive a com- plimentary ticket to see one concert. and local music teachers will choose music students ages 10-15) to distribute programs on con- cert nights. In the process of putting the color on. she managed to splatter the wall and floor. By the time she was finished, she needed new wallpaper, cupboards and flooring. She also manag- ed to splatter her blouse and pants - some of the color even got on her skin making it appear as if she had a tattoo. While she was in the middle of applying the color the phone rang. Against her bet- ter judgement she answered it Her white telephone was soon covered with dark fingerprints. Worse yet. when she was finally finished her do-it- yourself project, her hair wasn't the right color. Greenway pair feted By ANNE WALPER Greenway Miro and Mildred llancock, ('orunna and John and Marion Uonkervoort and boys, London spent Sunday with Clarence and Geraldine Stone Allen and Marlene Hayter returned from Rainy River last week. Sunday was the day of the "Pool Party" at the home of Ronnie and Marlene Turner. The Willing Workers enjoyed the sunny afternoon and following the swimming a barbecue was held. The family of Graham and Anna Eagleson entertained their parents Friday evening at a "dinner party.. at Hooks' Restaurant in London. It was their 35th wedding anniversary. After returning home they went to bed However it was a short sleep as a group of noise -makers gathered out- side the house and created quite a noise. President, Irene Ward presided, opening with everyone singing "0 Canada". This was followed by the Lord's prayer and a sing -song of favourite numbers. Jean Page played the piano for the Senior Citizens song. A moment of silence was observed for three members deceased this summer, Mrs. Mabel Gill, Verne Ridley and Laird Hendrick. During the business, plans were set in motion for the club to have a white elephant sale at the farmers' market on Thanksgiving weekend. Several members had bir- thdays over the summer and the group sang "Happy Birth- day", including September birthdays. Jeanne Kading's group was in charge of the program and lunch. Clara Hamilton read "A Psalm for a fool"; and "Sunshine in a smile", follow- ed by a verse of school days and the Wise Old Owl verse by Buelah Holt. Alex Hamilton closed the meeting with some humorous jokes. In the social time, games of bingo were played with the following winners: Eileen Higgins, Iva Latta, Melvin Mogk, Loreen Gill, Buelah holt, Elizabeth Relouw, Enid Johnson, Nola Love and Olive Miller. Lunch refreshments and visiting closed a pleasant afternoon. Personals Congratulations to the Grand Bend squirts minor soccer team, on their victory Saturday in the Nairn tourna- ment. They captured the "A" championship in a shoot out •against Exeter. A festive mood was further created with thanks to Gary, who made the day even brighter!! Good work by the team and coaches Helen Vlemmix, Pat- ti Green and Fred. Kay and Frank Allen, Grand Cove, are still squirm- ing after lightning hit their front door last week. George and Ruth Crosby, Southcott Pines, Kay Pollen. Exeter, and Marg and Bob Hedley, Turnbull's Grove, helped celebrate Teenie's 84th birthday, Wednesday. Every- one enjoyed the evening com- plete with birthday cake at the Fireside Inn in Thedford. On the way there, four deer crossed their path near the Pinery Park. Don't forget the Lioness fall dance this Saturday evening from 9-1:00 at the Klondyke Campground Pavillion. Bill and Dot Lenk, Exeter. Marg and Bob Hedley motored to Wyoming and Forest on Labour Day to visit their two Legions. They en- joyed supper at the Pinedale and finished their evening at the Grand Bend Legion to watch the Canada Cup hockey game. A large number of Grand Bend children registered for the minor hockey season at Parkhill arena, Saturday morning.
