IRVIN RADER Dashwood Women's In- situte met Thursday, September 6 with the Tweedsmuir History group in charge and coveners, Mrs. Ir- win Rader, Mrs. Hilda Rader and Mrs. Flossie Willert. The Institute also sponsored the Huron County Historical meeting. Displays were set up by Mrs. Emil Becker who had visited our twin province, New Brunswick, this suinmer and by Mrs. Rader who had the Tweedsmuir books, log book and family trees. President Mrs. Emil Becker presided and welcom- ed everyone, Fifteen members answered the roll call, "Recollection of your first car." Mrs. Hilda Rader discussed the Motto, Memory is a wonderful treasure, if you know how to pack it. Mrs. Becker discussed several hi - centennial events and called on the ones who were on the float to come forward and sing the Bicentennial song written by Mrs. Irvin Rader. Speaker for the evening was Mrs. Irvin Rader who spoke on Friedsburg- Dashwood and the surroun- ding area. She had maps on display showing changes in recent years. Isabel Theedom, president of the Historical Society, presided for a business meeting. She stated that they had been invited to two bicentennials, Benmiller and Goderich. Everyone was in- vited to attend the dinner meeting at Brucefield Oc- tober 24. The secretary reported they had 195 members and looking back four charter members from Dashwood, Jim Hayter (now of Goderichi, Harry Hoff- man, Mary Rader and Letta Taylor. Reports of essays by public school children were that they were excellent. A short business business meeting followed lunch. It was decided to have an ex- hibit at Exeter Fair. Three delegates were elected for the Rally at Wingham October 1. London area Convention will he held at St. Marys MY THANKS TO YOU! Andre Madore, former resi- dent of Stephen Township who moved from Ontario to Quebec, passed away last Thursd; y and several from here at ended the funeral. Rev. M. Fay Gaiser and Alice Dietrich are attending McMaster University, Hamilton. Sandra Datars and Kim Gaiser are back at Western. Judith Mellecke has returned to Ann Arbor Col- lege, Mich. John Kellerman! Toronto, spent a few days with his mother, Mrs. Mildred Keller- man. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Don Derby, Ilanover. Clandeboye Edie Worthington and Irene Herbert, attended the Eastern Division War Brides convention, held at the Park Hotel, in Niagara Falls on the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph .Lynn and Phillip, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Carter and Mrs. Isobel Simpson were guests at the Sawyer-Doney wedding in Pelrolia on Saturday. Congratulations to Joanne Cunningham and Dave Walzak who were married in St. James Church, Clandeboye, on Saturday. Dorothy and Ray Davies of North Burnaby, B.C. are visiting Ruth and Alan Hill. Congratulations to Janet and Bev Bumstead on the ar- rival of their baby girl, Jenna Kathleen.
