At Monday nights' regular
council meeting, some Grand
Bend residents attended falter
sending a letter for councils
action. They would strongly

ment officer appointed for the
village as soon as possible.
Nan Freele and Shirley Mit-
chell, representatives of the
Property Lovers' Association
attended the June 4 meeting,
with the hope that an appoint-
ment will be made shortly.
Already one busy long
weekend has gone by without
anything being accomplished
about the noise, parking ill
other pertinent problems in
town.
In other business, George
Kadlecik was granted per-
mission to operate a flea
market on his property in the
old roller rink, which is com-
mercially zoned.
Ed Iskauskas, representing
the planning advisory, attend-
ed this meeting and seemed
satisfied about councils' deci-
sion for this summer as a
guideline.

Clerk Diane Mollard in-
formed council that sometime
next week, a meeting will be
set up to establish their 1984
mill rate for the village. Also,
a public meeting will be held
in the near future to discuss a
boundary adjustment, which
has been a very controversial
subject among Grand
Benders in the past. There
seems to be a stronger feeling
of unity, expressed especial-
ly by some Southcott Pines
residents.
Councillors unanimously
agreed with a firm "no" to a
business operator's request to
have a trailer set up behind
the booth for his fhildren to
watch TV and eat meals in.
- Peter Becker, Sears, Grand
Bend Emporium and Farmer
Bill's Flowers were granted
sign permits after the usual
fee is paid.
Councillor Doreen Seguin
will assist in obtaining prices
for Mrs. Annie Orban's new
cleaning equipment. Mrs. Or -
ban will be hired separately
by the OPP and municipal of-
fice in order to stay within the
40 hour work limit.
It was decided that *200.00
would be sent to the Royal
Canadian Legion Branch
498's bulding fund, scheduled
to he completed by this fall.
