day due to anniversary ser-
vice at St. Pauls, Kirkton.
Surprise celebration
for Shipka couple

A surprise 30th wedding an-
niversary party was held Sun-
day for Dick and Annie
Zielman at Zurich Mennonite
church, arranged by their
family. About 40 relatives,
friends and neighbours at-
tended from Essex, Leam-
ington, Hensen, Dashwood
and Zurich.
The afternoon was spent
visiting and reminiscing,
looking at pictures and
albums. Annie's brother Bi11
Janzen, from Leamington,
Wowed a slide presentation of
"oldies" dating back for 20
years which was much en-
joyed. The afternoon conclud-
ed with a pot luck supper at 5
p.m. followed with cake and
ice cream.
Attending from here were
Ken and Ortha Baker, Hugh
and Annie Morenz.
Enjoy trip
Mabel Guenther and her
friend Mabel Schofield and
Annie Morenz were on the bus
trip last Tuesday to Niagara
Falls sponsored by Grand
Bend Seniors. Our first stop in
the morning was at the
Welland canal to view boats
passing through the locks.
After Lunch, an hour of shop
ping was enjoyed at Niagara
on the Lake. Other stops of in:
terest were Queenston
Heights and Brock's monu-
ment, Fort St. George, floral
clock, Niagara Gorge and
generating station, whirlpool
rapids and the greenhouse full
of gorgeous flowers. -
Supper was at Victoria
Park restaurant overlooking
a view of the Falls. A stop at
the Skylon Tower where
several took the ride to the top
and a view of the Falls lit up
with colored lights concluded
our day.-
Sympathy`is expressed to
Dick and Annie Zielman and
family in the death of Dick's
mother Mrs. Geraldina
Zielman on Sunday May 27 in
Holland. Mrs. Zielman was in
her 92nd year.

Niagara Falls on Tuesday.

panied Gordon and Shirley
McAlpine of Ailsa Craig on a
trip to St. Catharines on Sun-
day where they attended the
funeral of the late Chester
Walton.
Our sympathy goes to the
friends and relatives of Ken
Hodgins of Centralia whose
funeral was held on Monday
of this week.
Norman and Joyce Hodgins
spent the holiday weekend in
Quebec City where Norman
was invited to pull with his
truck in the Nordique
Coliseum.
U.C.W. Anniversary Ser-
vice was held on Sunday with
Marjorie Smith of the London
Conference speaking on
"Multiply the Gift." Eloise
Eagleson, Anna Eagleson,
Jean Isaac and Lillian Ulens
assisted in the service. A
special choir sang anthems
"In the Garden" and "He
Touched Me."

Relatives in this communi-
ty received word of the death
of 'Mrs. Fred "Small"
Dickens of Coldwater, On-
tario, May 22 at the "Trillium
Home", ()riffle. She was in
her 106th year. Her late hus-
band was born on Concession
4 Biddulph. Mrs. Dickens
leaves no immediate
relatives.
This conununity was shock-
ed last Monday at the sudden
passing of the late Mrs. Vera
Greenlee. She is survived by
her son Earl and daughter-in-
law Marguerite, two grand-
sons and six great grand-
children. She lived for many
years in this locality and at-
tended St. Patrick's Church.
The sympathy of the com-
