Mrs. McCormick opened the meeting with the meditation. Mrs. Joan McCormick read the scripture passage. Mrs. Dick Jongkind read the minutes, followed by a business discussion. Mrs: McCormick then in- troduced Mrs. Rick Bradford who showed material samples, blinds and wallpapers which was very interesting. The hostess serv- ed lunch. Kirkton Women's Institute The Kirkton Women's In- stitute held their May meeting as a supper at the restaurant at Elginfield. The committee in charge of the arrangements were Jean Copeland, Elaine Stephen and Helen Shute. Each person was given a •lovely rose and had a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. President Phyllis Rodd con- ducted the business meeting with the opening exercises. Group two will be catering to a banquet .for South Perth Centennial School in late June. Reports of the 36th con- vention of the F.W.I.O.. in Waterloo University were given by delegate Joyce Strahan. Helen Shute, new president of the district, spoke briefly and anyone interested in the bus trip on June 7 please contact her this week. k Reports on the District An- nual in Mitchell on May 15 were given by Doris Denham and Butsy Parkinson. .The Perth County Rally is October 11 in Stratford. The next meeting will be held in Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre on June 28 at 8:30 p.m. Secret Pals for the past year were revealed and some of the members were not very good guessers as to theirs. Members drew names for the next year for Secret Pals. Everyone enjoyed the even- ing that the committee had arranged for them. Kir{cton 4-1! The Kirktori 4-11 beef club held its second meeting of the year at the home of Mike Conlin. At this meeting a class of market steers was judged and a lesson was given on the selection of bulls and replace- ment heifers. This lesson discussed the weanings of calves from the herd.' The next meeting for the Kirkton 4-11 beef club is scheduled for Wednesday June 13 at the farm of 4-H leader Mike O'Shea. groups meet Personals Sandra Fetcher has ac- cepted a job with the town of Exeter for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Robin- son spent the past week in Calgary and attended their daughter's graduation. Mrs. Myrtle Doupe spent a few days last week visiting with her niece, Mrs. Evelyn Hammond of Sarnia. St. Paul's church observed their anniversary service Sunday morning with the Rector Reverend Derrick of- ficiating. The choir rendered an'hnthern and guest soloist was Mrs. Joan Fox of Lowville. Scripture passages were read by Mrs. Brent Blackler and Meagan McCormick. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Waghorn, Mr. and Mrs. Burns Blackler and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davis follow- ing the service were Mrs. Fox, Mrs. Harold Johnston, Lorna and Leslie of Lowville; Mrs. Jean Hern of Exeter; Mrs. Mollie Roger, Mrs. Elsie Blackler, Mrs. Harold Henry, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Fair- bairn and Mrs. Robert Dob- son of London; Mrs. Muriel Sisson of Strathroy; Mrs. Catharine Elston of Cen- tralia; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Switzer and Brian of RR 6 St. Marys; Jack Switzer, Rea Stephen, Murray Switzer and Peter Derrick.
