special honor, Mayor Bruce
Shaw told council this week.
Shaw was reporting for the
executive committee, which
had met earlier in the day to
consider the bicentennial
honor and a couple of other
pieces of business.
The two have been asked to
report back to the next coun-
cil session on their
nomination.
The Mayor also reported
that the committee recom-
mended that council support
the position of the .Ausable-

provincial report which sug-
gests that the designation and
power over flood' plain
management be turned over
to municipalities.
The Authority has contend-

ABOUT THE

For starters, an electric heat pump
is costly to install and maintain.
Although it will reduce your oil bill,
it will increase your hydro bill: And
who knows where hydro costs are
going?
And remember that a heat pump
is only an auxiliary heating system.
You still have to have a furnace to
help a heat pump through our tough
Canadian winters. ,
The better way to go for year-
round comfort is wifhll a High -Effi-
ciency natural gas furnace/central
air-conditioning package.
