The booksale will be held in Memorial Hall, Blyth, on Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 27 from noon to 5 p.m., skal features more than just books. On Saturday at 2 p.m. Robert Munsch will delight children with stories. He's the author of such popular children's books at The Paper Bag Princess and The Boy in the Drawer. Women at Caven hear of missionary activities Caven P.C.W. have been priviledged to hear two of the churches overseas mis- sionaries and Mrs. Gwyn Whilsmith who visited others. At the Spring Happening in Seaforth of the Stratford Huron Presbyterial Miss Arlene Randall on furlough from Nigeria told of training native people for leadership roles, which involves working with individual teachers. Her tale included the show- ing of many slides of Nigeria which has an area of 356,667 square miles, whose climate ranges from hot and humid on the coast to very dry in the north. Before retir- ing at the end of this year she is travelling to many parts of Canada. She illustrated her message to the children by showing small "carved" animals 'native to the area where she served. Monday evening, May 14, the PCW hadgists the ladies of Cromartyu, Iiensall and Thames Road to hear Mrs. Whilsmith who with her friend Mrs. Elizabeth Moore has just returned from a five week tour to Hong Kong, China, India, Rome and Holland. In Japan they have freedom of worship and it it estimated that 10 percent of a population of 123 million are Christian. In Canton, China, 2000 persons became Chris- tian last year. Again the ladies saw beautiful pictures of the old and modern areas of these countries. Mrs. Blanche Dougall was president for this meeting. Mrs. Donald Webster and Mrs. Clifford Ersman con- ducted the worship period. Mrs. Susan Moore accom- panied by Mrs. Sharon McNeilly favoured with two lovely solos. The "Crafty Country Cor- ner" had a good display of food and craft items for sale. There was also an excellent display of craft work from the rug braiding and quilting courses. Elimville gave the courtesy remarks and invited the An- nual to come to them in 1985. The meeting closed with all singing "Bless our Institute" and Dashwood ladies served a delicious lunch.
