HAROLD DAVIS The April meeting of Kirkton Women's Institute was held at the Kirkton- Woodham Community Cen- tre. Christine Eveleigh, Doris Denham and Joyce Strahan had arrangedphicken, salad and rolls along with dessert for the meeting. The meeting was opened with the Opening Ode; Mary Stewart Collect. The roll call was the members paying their fees. The minutes and correspondence was read by Joyce Strahan. President Christine Eveleigh reminded the members of 4-11 achievement night at the Community Cen- tre for the quilting course that the girls had just completed. A letter from the London Area of Institute asked that Kirkton members select a se- cond vice-president. This let- ter was filed for the present. A wedding and reception will be catered to in July. Reports from the Standing Committees were given and the minutes of the last Annual Meeting were read. Kirkton Institute will be giving $100 to Pennies for Friendship. Doris Denham conducted the elec- tion of officers for the year 1984-1985. Mrs. Floyd Cooper and Mrs. Harry Dougall welcomed each one. Mrs. Earl Keller and Mrs. Ir- vin Rader were in charge of registration with 106 ladies signing in. Church Goderich, had open- ing devotions and Pastor Mellecke had closing devotions. , Personals A large number of relatives and friends attended the Ritchie -Webb wedding at Calvary United Church and the dinner and reception at the Recreation Centre in Ex- eter, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader were Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Gamble, London. Mrs. Hilda Rader spent Sunday at Dorchester with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader and family and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Rader and family. Dashwood hard ball registration was held April 14. Kathy Hayter and Carol Luther will be coaching 30 5-8 year old boys and girls for T - ball. Larry Luther and Dave Woodward have 17 tykes. They have had two games against St. Marys. The first game in St. Marys, Dashwood lost 18-4. Saturday St. Marys came to Dashwood and Dashwood lost 10-0 but they are improving and hoping to win the next time. Tyke home games are Saturday after; noon at 1:30. Pee wees coached by Joe Arnold, Ken Genttner and Bill Vandeworp won both games. In St. Marys they won 12-9 and again agaist St. Marys they won 3-2. Pee wee home games are Monday night at 6:30. Don Beaver and Irvin Mar- tin coach the bantams. Their home games are Tuesday night at 7 p.m. playthe first game May 22 in Dashwood. The midgets played their first game Sunday, and won 6-5. They are coached by Ber- nie Denomme. They play home games Supday at 7 p.m. Come out and support your teams. Dashwood Minor Athletic would like to thank Friedsburg committee, Dashwood Slo-pitch teams, Village of Dashwood, Dashwood Men's Club and Zurich Lion's Club for their generous donations which helped them buy new uniforms and new equipment for the teams. HEBER DAVIS The A.C.W. meeting held Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Vicky Gee was opened with the ladies repeating the members prayer led by the president Mrs. Marguerite Greenlee. Following the Scripture reading and prayer led by several members plans were made for a home baking and garage sale to be held at the home of Tom and Mary Kooy, Centralia on June 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. . The treasurer read the monthly report. Plans were made to clean the church for the anniversary service on may 27 at 11 a.m. The June meeting will be held at the home of MrsrMary Jefferies. The hostess served • refreshments and a social hour was enjoyed and quilt tickets were handed out. The meeting closed with prayer. Service was held at St. Crediton East . By MRS. Patrick's at 1 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Mary Carroll and Mrs. Mary Davis were readers. Rev. Derrick spoke to the children on the importance of the 'Corner Stone'. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Tindall were guests Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clarke, Shipka. Mr. and Mrs. Bob MacGillivray and Courtney spent the weekend with Bob's parents Mr. and Mrs. MacGillivray, Stokes Bay. Mrs. Mary Davis and Mrs. Bob MacGillivray and Court- ney were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Da Wednesday evening. Bob MacGillivray returned home Thursday from a business trip in Montreal.
