Church service Rev. Robert Matheson was in charge of the Mother's Day Church Service on Sunday. The primary class sang "Jesus Love the Little Children" and Robert Bray sang "Everything Is Beautiful" accompanied by the pianist Miss Agnes Bray which was much enjoyed. Rev. Robert Matheson told the children a story entitled "Great Gifts". The sermon was entitled "Memories Abound". Mother's Day is a day of memories. It's a day when we can think back to the deeds done for us which received no thanks in. return. Today besides being Mother's Day, is also Good Shepherd Sun- day. When we think of the role and the duties of a shepherd we find that vocation has a description much like the work of a mother. On Good Shepherd Sunday we remember in particular the aspects of Jesus' ministry which are shepherd -like. He served His people. He loves His people-. He gives of Himself. The same, of course is true of the ideal mother. The family of God - the Church - is called to serve others, to love, to give of itself. In order to be the ideal church, then, we need ideal standards. These can be found in the ideal life of Christ.
