Catherine Patterson competed in her fifth year at OFSAA Gymnastics while Lee O'Rourke made her se- cond appearance at the com- petition held last weekend at Brock University. Lee, a grade 10 honour stu- dent won the all -Ontario in- termediate bars. Coach Carey Eddy was extremely pleased with her protege's performance, "Lee's bars were fantastic." Her winning mark of 9.2 was the same as her WOSSA win and is . uite an achievement since OFSAA is so much more competitive and tough judging. Lee also had 8.5 out of 10 for her hand -spring vault. Her beam routine was a disap- pointment, however. In the in- termediate division Lee was GRAND CHAMPS — The grand championship of the Exeter ladies dart league was won by the Go Getters. She was .25 'points out of second place, marks that one less wobble on the beam might have made up. The experience Lee had from competing as an alter- nate at OFSAA last year lessened the nervous jitters but Eddy noted that the petite gymnast was quite excitable. Goals have already been set for Lee's next season where she hopes to make it to OF - SAA on all four apparati. Plan for formal The old adage that "Rome wasn't built in a dao" is holding true for South Huron's Formal. The formal will be held in the high school's small gym- nasium on Friday May 25. The band Traces will be play- ing. Students will have the op- portunity of having a formal photograph taken that even- ing by a professional photographer. The student of the year awards will be presented at the formal.
