DECISION
Ex -Con Cablevision Ltd. Ex-
eter, Ont. Pursuant to public
notice CRTC 1983-260 dated
15 November 1983, the CRTC
approves the applications to
make the changes with
respect to the U.S. television
signals distributed on the
broadcasting receiving under-
taking serving Exeter, subject
to the condition of approval
set out in this decision. The
licensee also applied to
amend its licence by increas•
ing the maximum monthly
subscriber fee from 58.84
(58.90 effective 24 August
1984 in accordance with Deci-
sion CRTC 83-705) to 512.32
(51.74 effective 24 August
1984) to cover the costs of
providing the 3 r 1 U.S. CAN -
COM signals noted above.
This proposal is approved in
port. The Commission ap
proves an increase to 511.94
(512.36 effective 24 August
1984). This 53.46 increase is
justified based on the charge
to be paid by the licencee to
CANCOM for the new ser-
vices and to cover the direct
incrementol costs reloted to
the exhibition of the CAN•
COM signals, and is in accor-
dance with the guidelines for
rate increases associated
with the oddition of the CAN -
COM 3 + 1 U.S. signals, set
out in public notice CRTC
1983.109. In view of the fact
that the signal KOMO-TV
(ARC) is not yet distributed by
CANCOM, the licensee may
only charge 51.66 of the in-
crease when the CBS, NBC
and PBS signals ore
available to subscribers and
the remaining $0.80 at such
time as tRe ABC signet is pro
vided. The Commission hos
determined that the remain
ing portion of the proposed
increase (50.38) hos not been
justified by the licencee and
it is, accordingly, denied. J.G.
Potenoude, Secretory
General. CRTC documents
may be read in the "Canada
Gazette", Port 1, at CRTC of-
fices; and at reference
libraries. CRTC decisions con-
cerning o licensee may be
rood at its offices during nor•
mal business hours. You also
may obtain copies of CRTC
public documents by contoc-
ting the CRTC at: Ottawa/Hull
