Mrs. Miller presided open-
ing with the Institute Ode and
Mary Stewart Collect.
Highlight of the evening was
the presentation of a life
membership and pin to Mrs.
John Miller for her faithful
contribution to the Staffa
Branch for over twenty-five
years.
_ Safety hints were given by
Mrs: Hazel Harburn and the
roll call was aswered by the
payment of fees for 1984-85.
A collection was taken for
the safe water for all project
amounting to nearly $40.
Interesting reports were
given by the executive and
conveners showirg that the
branch had enjo3ed a very
successful year. Mrs. Wm.
Mahon expressed the thanks
of the members to Mrs. Lloyd
Miller (retiring president) for
her leadership. '
The slate of officers were
presented by the nominating
committee. Mrs. Lloyd Miller
presided for the installation of
officers and Mrs. Wm. Mahon
was the recording secretary.
Mrs. Miller presented the
Institute gavel to the incom-
ing president Mrs. Dalton
Smale and asked everyone to
support her in her term as
president. Mrs. Smale closed
the meeting and coffee cake
was served by Mrs. Alvin
Barbour and Mrs. George
Vivian

The Cormarty Marian Rit-
chie Evening Auxiliary enter-
tained several neighbouring
church groups on Tuesday
evening when their special
guest was Mrs. Anthony Van
Klooster, St. Pauls, who
showed excellent slides and
gave a most interesting'talk
on a trip to Africa this past
year which she and her hus-
band had taken to visit a
sister of Mrs. Van Kloosters
who is a Nun working with the
handicapped in Africa. Mrs.
Jean Carey introduced and
thanked Mrs. Van Kloostra.
Ladies were present from
Exeter,. Hensall, Seaforth and
Mitchell Presbyterian Chur-
ches and Thames Road and
llibbert United Churches.
Mrs. Carey presided for the
evening and Mrs. Ivan Norris
accompanied the hymns.
Scripture reading and
meditation was taken by Mrs.
Duncan Scott and Mrs. Alex
Miller. Special Easter music
was provided by Tracy and
Trudy Quance, Sherri Elliott
and Lisa Gardiner accom-
panied by Mrs. Elmer Dow.
Roll call was answered by
a Easter Verse. Mrs. Sally
Scott and Mrs. Lorne Elliott
received the offering which
was dedicated by Mrs. John
Templeman. A social time

speaker at the April meeting
of Cromarty W.M.S. Mrs.
Reynolds told how God had
led her in her newspaper
career, first as a proofreader
with the Huron Expositor,
then as a columnist in Farm
Update, and now in her work
with the Times -Advocate.
During her frequently
humorous talk, she showed
how a newspaper is assembl-
ed and explained some of the
problems encountered in put •
ting out a newspaper.
The program followed a
delicious potluck dinner at
which ladies from Hibbert
U.C.W. and the Cromarty
community were guests.
Dorothy Miller welcomed
the visitors and led in the
Glad Tidings Easter Service
of Worship, with Betty Lou
Norris at the piano for the
hymns. Scriptures from Mat-
thew, Luke and John were
read by Muriel Scott, Agnes
Lamond and Ula McKaig and
each was followed by a devo-
tional poem or reading.
Lisa Gardiner entertained
with two piano instrumentals.
Seven members answered the
roll call with one verse of a
favourite Easter hymn. Edna
Stoneman gave a humorous
reading,

Audrey Rowe JPNG, thank-

Humanitarian Services Com-
mittee and the euchre parties
held all winter. A banquet will
be held at the Bur Gley for the
retiring officers on May 9. She
also reported that a donation
pard, Grand Bend, will be
displaying the new fashions
for spring and summer. Wen-
dy Elliot will not be on the
runway this year. Instead,
she is producing the show.

was read about the Bluebird.
Easter Readings were
given by Sister Cheryl Ed-
wards and Sister Shirley
Cooper. Cheese and crackers
were served by the commit-
tee in charge.
One of the London par-
ticipants will do a break
dance routine as part of the
production.
CFPL's Peter Garland will
act as MC.
The $7 tickets are available
at Victoria & Grey and the
RSD Sports Den. All proceeds
will go to the Cancer Society.
