Motocross
Honda Canada Team
Riders Tim Krough and Mike
Harnden will be chief instruc-
tors at a special two day
motocross school being held
at Hully Gully, RR 1 Varna on
Friday and Saturday, May 4
and 5.
Both Tim Krough and Mike
'Hamden are top Canadian
"Expert" motocross riders,
with Harnden finishing Se-
cond overall in 1983, and
Krough placing fourth
overall. Harnden and Krough
bring their own expertise, as
well as the full resources of
the Honda Canada Motocross
Team for this special school.
Honda Canada and Hully
Gully join in raising the level
of motocross competition in
Ontario. The Honda Schools,
held as far west as B.C. and
, as far east as the Maritimes,
are now in their second year
school
and underline the company's
serious attitudes toward the
sport. Riders must supply
their own machines, riding
gear and 125 entry fee.
All motocross riders are
welcome to attend the school,
which begins Friday evening
Mary 4 with an orientation
discussion, talks on technical•
and training matters and a
short film.
Meals are provided. Riders
must register at Nulty Gully
before the first of May by
phone or mail. This special
coarse kicks off Hully Gully's
season of motocross ac-
tivities, with their first sanc-
tioned race of the Summer on
Sunday, May 6.
Other motocross summer
camp schools, lasting for a
week each begin July 2, and
run through the end of
August.

"Smart Home Owners Keep Their
Chimneys in Good Repair"
Chimney Inspections
Ontario Fire Code Regulations state:
Section 2.6.1.2. -"chimney and chimney liners
that constitute a hazard shall be repaired and
replacement shall be in accordance with the
Ontario Building Code."
Section 2.6.1.5. "every chimney flue and flue
pipe shall be inspected annually and cleaned
as often as may be necessary to keep them for
accumulations of combustible deposits."
The Ontario Building Code Act, section 5(11 re-
quired that a building permit be obtained prior
to the repair or alteration of a chimney.
It is the responsibility of each home owner to
maintain and clean their chimneys regularly
In the upcoming weeks, Fire Chief Gary Mid
dleton and Building and Zoning Administrator
Brian Johnston, C.E.T. will be conducting
routine inspections of chimneys serving solid
or liquid fuel -fired appliances.
For further information on these regulations or
to have your chimney inspected, contact Gory
at 235-1981 or Brian of 235-0310.
NOTICE - A chimney flue serving a fireplace. a
solid fuel -fired appliance, or an in-
cinerator shall not serve any other
appliance. This applies to all new
installations effective November 30•
1983 as per Ontario Building Code
Regulations.

Hello! My name is Bonny
Oleksuik. i am 18 years old. I
am from Selkirk, Manitoba
which is .roughly 30 miles
north of Winnipeg. I really en-
joy being in Katimavik for a
• couple of main reasons. One
is travelling. but most of all 1
like meeting the wide variety
of people.
Before.1 carne to Katimavik
I applied for Psychiatric nur-
sing but because of the large
enrollment 1 didn't get ac-
cepted. When I finish
• Katimavik 1 ani not sure what
exactly 1 want (9 do but 1
know it will be related to

I joined Katimavik because
I wanted to learn different
types of jobs and to travel a
bit. Katimavik is helping me
alot for my future. Katimavik
is giving me an idea of what
kind of career or job that I
would like, it's also helping
me to live on a budget that I
can afford.
So far I think Katimavik is
great! I learned how to live
with a group of people my
age, to cook better meals and
try nut vegetarian meals, and
learn diftereilt job skills. But
most of all I love meeting new
people and finding a bit about
them. i love animals and
most sports.

from Surrey, which is in the

Katimavik to see different
parts of Canada, to learn
french and to try something
different,i enjoy the out-
doors, sewing and most
sports, i would like it to be

tured the championship in the
national peewee division of
the Buffalo tournament with
three strong third periods.
in game one the locals took
a 2-1 first period lead as David
O'Connor and Jason McFalls
scored. The game was a
close checking affair in the se-
cond with Brent MacDonald
coming "up- With several fine
saves to keep Exeter in front.
.Justin Charrette scored
early in the third and then Ex-
eter wrapped it up late in the
period on two goals by Todd
McCann and McFall's second
of the game as the locals
pasted a 6-1 win over South
Buffalo. McCann, O'Connor
'and Mike Conlan each had
two assists with singles going

The Ausable-Bayfield Conservation Authority
is sponsoring three public meetings because
we want your input and reaction to our long-
range Watershed Plan. The Watershed Plan
describes the Conservation Authority's direc-
tion for.the next .fifteen years in the program -
areas 0f flooding, soil erosion, water supply,
water quality, recreation, forestry, en-
vironmentally significant areas, fish and
wildlife and cultural and historical resources.

19 years old and from Port
Colborne, Ontario. I joined
Katimavik for a challenge
and travelling. My main in-
terests are in the Martial
Arts, the Outdoors and Par-
ty's. After Katimavik I plan
on travelling.
I'm Martine Beaudoir, I'm
19 and from Montreal
(Quebec) My first language is
French. I joined Katimavik
for the challenge to live and
experience with other people
my age and meet people from
different backgrounds. I also
love travelling, but more in -
portant to me I'm learning
English. In my free time I try
to stay active with some.

Jamestown travelling team.
Van Dam and Zbalmers each
scored twice with Charrette
and McCann adding singles
as O'Connor and Wedlake
added assists. The
Jamestown team had gone
undefeated in their league
with a 25-0 record. •
in the final game Exeter
broke open a scoreless game
in the second on their way to
an 11-1 win over the Buffalo
Saints. McCann, Charrette
and Chalmers each had a pair
for the winners with Van Dani
and O'Connor adding singles.
Glen Quinn added three
assists, Charrelle, Van Dam
and Conlan had two each with
singles going to Todd !kink-
ing, McFalls, Chalmers and
McCann.
MacDonald was strong in net •
coming up with the key saves
in all three wins and Jamie
Bedard was a standout defen-
sively for Exeter.

Lambs visit Ailsa Craia

At the local library there
were some spring time
visitors recently. Twin Iambs,
only six days old came to the
library with Mrs. Wm. (Pitt)
Rowley. Unlike Mary's little
lamb, these two were very
welcome and the children en-
joyed feeding, petting and
learning a bit about sheep. -
Recently a number of peo-
ple have been interested in
reading microfilm copies
from the Parkhill Gazette
from the microfilm reading
machine. Presently the
library has microfilm copies
from 1893-1970. You are
welcome to come to the
library and use the machine.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Morton who observ-
ed their anniversary recently.

Secretary, Mrs. Emil Becker

the yearly report as well as
the treasurer's report.
New Home and Country
magazines were handed out.
Reports from all conveners
were read. Mrs. Bender read
a poem "Spring." A donation
was made to Exeter Fair
Board. Mrs. Bender, Mrs.
Aldene Wolfe and Mrs. Eben
Weigand attended an ex-
ecutive meeting in Hensall in..

The ladies who had taken
the rug braiding course at-
tended summary night in
Hensall April 4. A donation of

from Zurich W.I. was read.
"Focus on Corn" will be the
theme for Exeter Fair. Retir-

The Riverview Women's In-
stitute members extend a
warm welcome to ail to their
dessert euchre April 17 at 1
'p.m. in the Masonic hall.
After a busy six months of
making crib quilts, knitting
and craftwork, the Victory
Booster club held their last
meeting for the season with a
tasty smorgasbord pot -luck
dinner on April 2 at
suppertime.
Following this, several
were winners of lucky draws,
and then all joined in with the
games.
Mrs. Priestly thanked Mrs.
Roy Sutherland and Mrs. Joe
Burney for convening the
evening program.
In October the Victory
Booster Club will commence.
