Figure Skating carnival very successful
A full house (more than 450
tickets sold) was on hand at
the arena Sunday to watch the
excellent performance of "A
Walk Down Main Street" by
the Zurich and area figure
skating club. All the
organizers and participants
are to be congratulated on a
job well done.
Several ladies in town have
been very busy during the
winter months applying their
art and talents to making
beautiful quilts. I would like
to thank all who helped me
get one finished last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Neeb
and Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Fields spent a week in the
Barbados recently.
For those who bought pay -
what -you -pull tickets from
students at St. Boniface
school and were wondering
who the winners are, portable
stereo radio went to Jo -Anne
Gullo of Denfield and Brett
Rideout, Exeter won $25.00.
Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Desjar-
dine returned home on the
weekend after a nice six week
trip travelling around to
various places in Florida.
Howard (Mac) and Jean
Klopp spent six weeks in
Arizona (part of February
and March) and had beautiful
weather in the 80s all the

The final Orange Lodge
euchre party for this winter
was held Friday night with
fifteen tables in play. Marg
Hayter has kindly recorded
the prize winners when we
were unable to attend. Ladies'
high went to Grace McClin-
chey, low to Evelyn Flynn.
Men's high, Elmer Hayter;
low, Frank McClinchey.
Draw prize winners were
Ruth Johnston, Frieda
Moore, Elmer Murray, Reva
Wilson and Retta Baird.
Joyce Dowson will be
presenting a program on
Jamaica at Thursday night's
U.C.W. meeting. Everyone is
welcome to come

funeral of Mr. Lawrence
Quenneville in Detroit last
Tuesday before returning to
Zurich.
Mrs. Blanche Vallee of Bon-
ney Ville, Alberta, visited this
past week with her sister,
Mrs. Alida Rau, and her
brother Alphonse and Betty
Grenier in Hensall. They also
attended the Quenneville
funeral in Detroit.

Harold Deichert who passed
away on Friday, especially to
his wife,. Doris.
A good time was had by all
69 people at the bridal shower
held for Nancy Overholt on
Sunday at St. Boniface School
gym. A lot of useful . and
beautiful gifts were received
which Nancy thanked
ever one for. Prizes were
awarded for games and a
door prize. A nice lunch end-
ed a delightful afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Phil Durand
have returned home from the
winter months in Florida.
A bridal shower was held
for Nancy Overholt in
Dashwood last Friday at the
home of Gloria Hayter, she
will also be the recipient of a
few more showers, another
near Dashwood and one in

Last Monday 10 pupils of
Michelle Haberer held 'a lap
and Ilau dance recital for
their parents and friends at
the Community centre to
demonstrate all they learned
while taking lessons. Lunch
was served afterwards.
It's a sure sign of Spring
now that we see the robins
back again and the crocuses
popping out of the ground'.
