Playhouse gets
grant of $12,000
Huron County Playhouse
has received notification that
it has been awarded a grant
of $12,000. by the Canada
Council. This grant will be us-
ed towards operating the new
studio theatre, Playhouse II,
which opened last summer
and will be open once again
this year for three more
Canadian musicals.
The Playhouse II season
has been shortened for the
1984 season. Instead of runn-
ing throughout both July and
August, three shows will each
be performed for twelve per-
formances, then will close.
Nevertheless, the quality of
the productions will remain
the same high calibre that au-
diences have come to expect
from Huron County
Playhouse.
MAGIC MOMENT — The faces of children watching magician Marg Dean perform at the library, express wonder The three shows slated for
and enjoyment.
Nylons are returning
The incomparable Nylons
will be returning to Huron
County Playhouse in July!
This return engagement is an
unprecedented step for HCP,
but the combination of two
sold -out, concerts last season
and an almost unbelievable
demand from Playhouse
audience members have j
resulted in their coming back'
for another sensational show.
The Nylons are unique! The
quartet of Marc Connors,
Paul Cooper, Claude Mor-
rison and Arnold Robinson
sing a cappella, that is, with
no musical accompaniment
other than the rich, full-
bodied sounds of each other's
voices.
In the spring of 1979, The
Nylons emerged from the
Toronto underground to make
their professional debut.
Since then, there has been no
stopping them. They have
received rave reviews for
concerts in Canada, The
United States, England, Ger-
many, Belgium and Holland
and have performed with
singing stars such as Hall &
Oates, The Beach Boys, The
Little River Band, The
Pointer Sisters and Shirley
Bassey.
Their first album, The
Nylons, went gold ten weeks
after its 1982 releasg, Their
second album, One Size Fits
All, surpassed the first by go-
