SHDHS grade 12 student attends forum in Ottawa Doug Woodburn, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Woodburn, RR8 Parkhill, has been selected to attend Forum 84. The grade 12 student at South Huron District High School is in Ottawa from March 17 to 24. [r)fr., C(Oci L kit 1 Each year, the Forum for Young Canadians • brings to the Nation's Capital, from every province and territory in Canada, four hundred students who will be given the opportunity to discuss the pro- cesses of government with those who are in decision- making positions. The students selected to participate in the Forum for Young Canadians' unique educational programme are provided the rare privilege of sitting in the House of Com- mons and in the Senate. They will be visiting the Supreme Court of Canada and will be participating in a mock Cabinet discussion on immigration as well as stag- ing a Federal -Provincial Conference. By the end of their one- week programme, the students would have learned about the difficulties and con- plexities of how their govern- ment operates and will have acquired a better understan- ding of their fellow Canadians from across the land. Students rely on the generous support of local organizations to assist them in paying their fees for the course and the share of travel costs not covered by a grant from the Secretary of State. Doug has received sponsor- ship from the Exeter Legion and the South Huron District High school as well as from his parents. Kissing is a means of get- ting two people so close together that they can't see anything wrong with each other. Introduction service Electric plenum heater shes to meet oil furnace. Object: Substantial fuel oil savings. Kissing that old flame goodbye isn't the only way to reduce your oil consumption. If that oil furnace is still in good shape, you can take advantage of con- verting to a dual energy heating system. Instead of replacing your furnace, introduce it to an electric plenum heater, heat pump or base- board heaters. These dual energy systems let oil and electricity work in harmony to heat your home more efficiently and more economically. The "plenum" is the warm air chamber at the top of your forced air oil furnace. That's exactly where a plenum heater is installed. On all but the coldest days, the fan circulates more economical, electrically generated heat. If the temperature drops below a certain level, the furnace automatically - takes over. In the average home, the electric plenum heater can cut oil consumption by 75%. And reduce the total cost of heating your home enough to pay for the installation in about three years. Install a plenum heater and you may be eligible for a COSP (Canada Oil Substitution Program) grant. It pays for half of the installed cost of your plenum heater or $800, whichever is less, if you reduce your oil consumption by 50% or more. "Telephone today and ask for a visit from our energy adviser. We'll tell you about the advantages of dual energy heating systems and special assistance that could lead to even greater savings.
