her daughter Lori's fifth bir-

United Church Women
The March meeting of the
United Church Women was
held on Monday evening with
20 ladies present. The
Stewardship and Finance
Committee were in charge of
the meeting.
Mrs. Barry Jeffery gave
the Call to Worship -
"Remember the words of the
Lord Jesus, how He said, It is
more blessed to give than to
receive" and also the medita-
tion. We sang This Is My
Fathers World.
Mrs. Gerry Riehl read
Psalm 24. Explanation of the
Scripture was given by Mrs.
Jeffery. She also led in

Dashwood Women's In-
stitute met Tuesday after-
noon, with the Education Ac-
tivities group in charge and
conveners, Mrs. Aldene Wolfe
and Mrs. lfarvey Beierling
present. Mrs. Wolfe was
chairlady for the program.
Mrs. Beierling gave a
reading "Old Fashioned".
Mrs. Wolfe discussed the mot-
to "Books are the ever Learn-
ing lamp of accumulated
wisdom".
She introduced Mary Lynn
Morrice of Ellison Travel and
Tours who discussed the ad-
vantages of booking group
tours with the agency.
- She gave out a list of
available short tours and
longer tours. She showed
slides of Roseland's Lodge at
Port Carling in the Muskoka
district. Mrs. Margaret Car-
roll was the lucky winner of a
trip to Geritol Follies in a
draw.
Mrs. Eben Weigand. vice-
president. dealt with the
business. Several cards of
thanks were received. She
gave -the mutual report of
Dashwood and Area Medical
Centre report. It was decided
to have a euchre March 20.
