Mrs. Freer's grade 5-6 class
and Miss Walker's grade 4-5
class went to see "Winteriz-
ing" a drama production
organized, by Don Flecker, at
Alumni Hall this week. Some
of our grade 4 students wrote
about their impressions.
I liked all the characters,
but the one Hiked best is Aun-
tie. Auntie is my favourite
because she does things that
I would like to do, except steal
babies. I liked when she went
looking for Jakin and she'
came back frozen. She was
funny when she forgot things.
By Shayne Robinson.
This is one of my favourite
parts in Winterthing.
Auntie was a kind person
but had stolen babies. She
always cared about the
youngest.
Jakin was the second
youngest until Auntie took
another baby. Jakin liked

everyone except Carilan.
Carilan was a girl who was
a baby when someone hurt
her feelings. She always
stayed near Auntie. She was
real bold!
In one part Jakin slapped
Carilan because Jakin was
mad and Carilan was saying
bad things. After Jakin slap-
ped her in the face, she went
crying to Auntie. But Auntie
found another baby and told
her she wasn't the youngest
anymore, so she had to take
care of the baby. Sedna I
thought Carilan deserved it.
They were superb actors!!!
By Paul Woodburn.
I liked the play Winter -
thing. It was good. My
favourite character is Auntie.
She is a short, chubby, old
lady. She is very fuiiny!
Everytime a person leaves
their baby somewhere shP
takes it. She takes good care
of the babies she steals. She
never remembers where she
is. When she was on Winter
Island she thought she was on
the mainland. I like all the
characters, but I liked Auntie
best. By Georgiana Phipps.

even policeman", Doyle said.
Doyle has been seriously in-
jured only once, by a man
posing as a cripple who
smashed Doyle across the
face with his cane, breaking
the investigator's nose and
blacking his eye. Most come
quietly after leaving a store
and being'asked if they have
something in their possession
they have not paid for.
Honest customers pay for
'the shoplifter's crime. The
financial loss and the cost of
surveillance are passed on in
higher prices. Doyle inform-
ed his interested audience
that the apprehension of a
person who has been stealing
from a store on a regular
basis saves the proprietor an
average *2,500 in a year.
Guardian, Drugs owner
Esmail Merani was one of
those signing up with Four
Winds Investigations at the
close of the meeting. In a
three-day period before
Christmas he lost ladies'
wallets with a wholesale
value of *250.
From now on, people who
are tempted to steal from Ex-
eter merchants run a high
risk of being caught, con-
victed, and carrying a blot on
their reputations for the rest
of their lives.
