Explanatory Note
By -Law No. 10-1983
The purpose of By-law No. 10-1983 which
amends Zoning By-law No. 28-1974 is to effect
changes to certain regulations contained within
Zoning By-law No. 28-1974 regarding liquid
manure storage facilities. These changes are
the result of Council's consideration of the
regulations with respect to their
reasonableness dnd effectiveness. These
changes are as follows:
By-law No. 10-1983
Section Number
Change
1 This section substantially
revises the requirements
for liquid manure storage
facilities. The new re-
quirements include an in-
crease in the total storage
period to 240 days and new
provisions regarding drop
pipes and the fencing of ac-
cess ramps.
2 A new subsection has been
added to the Administra-
tion provisions in the By-
law which stipulates the in-
formation required by the
Zoning Administrator of the
Township when an appli-
cant applies for a building
permit for o liquid manure
storage facility. This infor-
mation will permit a com-
prehensive assessment of
any potential environmen-
tal impact related to a pro-
posed storage facility.
