morning with a good crowd in
attendance. He told the
children's story entitled
"Keeping Clean."
The Scripture Lessons were
read from Leviticus 19:1-2,
15-18; 1 Corinthians 3:10-11,
16-23; Matthew 5:38-48. The
sermon was entitled "Need
We Strive for Acceptance?"
Leviticus 19 tells us to love
our neighbours as we love
ourselves. This passage was
one quoted by a man trying to
trap Jesus with the question
"Who is my neighbour?"
In Matthew 5:38-48 Jesus
continues the Sermon on the
Mount speaking of human
relationships. He tells us to
change our ways regarding
retaliation - the mentality of
an eye for an eye and so on.
In a world which is torever
in a rush we need to slow
down our momentum every
so often and take a break and
deal seriously with the ques-
tion, "Am I, or are we really
headed in the right
direction?"

'Can't someone else do it'
By MRS. E. SUMMERS
At the Granton United
Church, Rev. Bruce Pierce
conducted the worship Sun-
day morning and took the text
for his sermon from the Scrip-
ture Lesson from Exodus
3:1-11 and entitled his
message "Can't Someone
Else Do It?"
Being religious is not a
work apart by itself, but it is
involvement in the work of
the church, such as raising
money for a project. When
asked to help in any capacity,
or become involved, the
answer is frequently "Can't
Someone Else Do It?", God
did not ask him to do it. He
told him to do it. We can do all
things through Christ who
strengthens us for the task,
said the minister.
At St. Thomas Anglican
Church, Rev. Peter A. Der-
rick was in charge of the Mor-
ning Prayer Service. The two
appointed Lessons were read
by Kenny Beatson and Mrs.
Percy Hodgins.
Rev. Derrick preached his
sermon from the fifth chapter
of Matthew verses 27-37, on
how the '.Spirit of the Law
