Need participants for Crediton rink
By MRS. MIR MARTIN
Eleanor Roeszler and Mary
Draisey chose the theme,
"The Beauty of God" for the
January mee\ing of the
United Church Women. About
20 ladies took part in singing
hymns, answering a Bible
Quiz and hearing a poem
about the new year.
Mary Draisey read the
scripture and Eleanor
Roeszler gave the devotional.
Joyce Preszcator played the
piano.
President Marie Fyden-
chuk opened the business by
thanking the worship commit-
tee and the ladies who helped
at the last social function. The
roll call was answered by
payment of dues for the year.
The minutes were read and
Nola Faist gave the yearly
treasurer's report. Doreen
Lightfoot read the cor-
respondence by the month.
Church In Society annual
report was given by Grace
M orlock.
"Too Many Children" and
article written by Compassion
was read as World Outreach
report. A plea from the Huron
street home for mitts, hats
and scarves was related to
the ladies. Lunch was served
by Jean Heist and Mary
Kenney. •
The next meeting will be
held on the usual date Thurs-
day, February 2 at 8 p.m. in

Snowshoeing - This year,
our school has a schedule for
the students to go snowshoe-

January 9, 1984. We have had
the snowshoeing program at
our school for several years
and everyone enjoys using
them. The classes take turns
using them at noon hour and
also during physical educa-
tion periods. We all hope we
can keep using them in years
to come. (Mona Brand, Laura
Draisey) .
Floor hockey - Our school is
now getting ready for the
floorhockey tournaments to
be held on January 27. The
boys will play at J.A.D.
McCurdy School and the girls
will participate at Exeter
Public School. After the tour
naments are over we will he
having floor hockey house -
league games in our own
gymnasium. Good luck to all
our floor hockey teams
(Michelle Vincent, Lisa
Martin.)
Woodworking - in our wood-
working in Room 7 we have
just finished doing some
decoupages. Now we have
begun working on our serving
trays. Later on this year we
hope to build a small stool.

Tlye Crediton Volunteer
Fireman's Association have
been busy in this cold weather
preparing a skating rink for
everyone at the community
park pavilion.
1 was there Monday after-
noon and found the skating
rink vacant. Where are all the
Participaction people. Ladies
moms and and tots could use
the ice in the mornings or
after lunch without fear of be-
ing shown up by some six
year old skating whiz.
Men what about an old
timers team from 2-3'.' Or just
a little free skating for people
like me who can barely ex-
ecute a figure eight let alone
a flying camel.
The olympic figure skating
on T.V. has given nie the itch
to put on the moldy skates and
try to make it around the rink
at least three or four times
without bruising my ego.
See you at the rink.
