First Christmas
By Hubert Jacobs,
Grade 8
St. Boniface School
On a donkey long ago,
A virgin did to Bethlehem go,
She was going to give birth,
To a child that would save the
Earth.
The man who led the donkey
far,
With the light of a bright star,
Was Joseph, a man from
David's house,
He led them silently like a
mouse.
When Bethlehem did they
finally reach,
There wasn't ro m in inns
for each.
They begged for room but
weren't able,
Until they found a little stable.
In this place she had her son,
One from God, the saving one,
Angels sang and people came,
Some shepards poor and in
shame.
Then some wise men from the
east,
Came to celebrate the feast.
They rode their camels very
far
To find out what was beneath
the star.
They brought the baby gifts
that were,
Gold, frankincense, and
myrr.
The time was full of joyful
love,
For the baby from above.
The Beautiful Christmas Tree
By Anne Walper
Grade 3, 4
Exeter Public School
Once upon a time there
where two children that lived
in a small cottage in the coun-
try. One day they went out
searching for a Christmas
tree!
They went into the forest,
but they did not see one they
liked. On the way home they
saw the most beautiful tree in
the world!! They ran home to
tell their father!
The girls said "It's not too
big and not too small. It's
BEAUTIFUL!" Their father
went and got some other men
from work.
They chopped and chopped
and finally TIMBER!!! The
tree fell. They took it home
and decorated it. Then
everyone thought it, was the
most beautiful tree in
world!!!

Christmas time is here again,
Santa's on his way.
The boys and girls are
waiting
To see his pretty sleigh.
Open gifts on Christmas
morn,
Santa's right on time.
Children playing with their
toys,
While the church bells chime.
Everyone is gathered around,
To enjoy a great big meal.
It's all a very joyous sound,
With all the love we feel.

Angel who didn't know
By Christine Rumba!'
Stephen Central - Grade 6
It was the night that Jesus
was born. All the angels in
heaven were filled with a
wonderful feeling of exite-
ment. Heaven was even
brighter than usual. Harps
were playing and all the older
angels were singing wonder-
ful songs of praise to God.
Gabriella, who was just a
very young angle didn't quite
understand what all the ex-
cite:nent was about, but she
knew that something wonder-
ful was about to happen.
A large star had been
polished and hung in the in the
sky as a sign to the people on
earth.
Another angle was getting
ready to fly down to earth.
Gabriella heard her telling
another angle that she was
going to tell the shepherds the
glad tidings. Gabriella was
feeling very happy, but she
wanted to know what wander-
ful thing was taking place.
Soon God took Gabriella
and told her the wonderful
news. He told her he was sen-
ding his son as a saviour into
the world..Who would save all
mankind from there sins. He
told Gabriella that his name
would be Jesus.

ed Gabriella the baby lying in

Christmas is a time for joy
and happiness. It's a time
when friends and relatives
come and visit. Everybody
gives and gets Christmas
presents. Well, almost
everybody.
This story takes place in a
village called Hillsville. It
wasn't very big but everyone
knew one another. Well,
almost everyone.
One man lived on top of this
hill from which he could see
the whole town. Nobody
brought joy and happiness or
presents in his home. He liv-
ed by himself, if you don't
count his cat named
Maybelle. He was totally out
of the Christmas spirit. In fact

he cringed just at the name "
Christmas" - for one reason.
Nobody knew he existed or
cared.
His problem was that he
wasn't involved in Christmas.
So he was going to either stop
Christmas or be a part of it.
One way was to just simply
ignore it. But with all the sing-
ing and the flashy lights, well
it was impossible! He thought
and thought some more. Then
it hit him.
He could stop Christmas by
wrecking the town's outside
decorations. Of course he
knew it was a mean low-down
thing to do but he thought the
towns people deserved it. His
plans were that at midnight
he would go into town and
destroy the Christmas joy.
He came back at four in the
morning and decided to stay
up and see what the people of
the town were going to do. As

I was sitting in front of a fire,
When I suddenly had a desire,
To see some little snow flakes,
That where shaped like
Christmas cakes.
So I had to go out and see,
What Jack Frost had brought
me.
It was snow! It was snow!
Oh what a glow!
I had such a craving for snow,
oh snow.

will be Jesus. He is the Son of
God." I almost forgot. Mary

Instead of getting revenge on
the people by wrecking the

had taught them a lesson!
The lesson was that the
townspeople could have
Christmas without all the

why Christmas was
celebrated, because it's the
day of the arrival of
Christchild. The townspeople
were outside singing
Christmas carols about
