PI /4 Cecil & Ruth 4 Squire ■ the scripture from Matthew 2. The program was in charge of Leona Hughes. With Jean Lee at the piano we sang Joy to the World. The motto, "Plant a seed of character r,r kindness in the home and it will bloom in the community," was well prepared by Becky Ross and was read by Lorna Priestley. An interesting Christmas reading, The Magic of Past Christmas' was given by Sadie Walker. Jean Lee gave another interesting reading "Christmas Traditions." Dutch and Polish customs at Christmas are certainly a bit different than ours but all had the true Christmas spirit. At this time we joined in sing- ing another carol, 0 Come All Ye Faithful. A reading by Leona Hughes, I Am A / Christmas Tree was quite uni- que as each stage of its life was presented. Christmas crafts were well demonstrated and explained by Ruth Ross who had so many beautiful decorations all hand made to show us. This was so interesting to see what can be made and much prettier than those from the store. Jean Lee thanked Ruth and presented her with a gift. Margaret Wilson read the minutes of the last meeting which was approved as read. Gertrude Rosser reported on meetings she had attended and told us about the bicentennial project. As we are hosting next year's convention a number of items were discussed. Nan- cy thanked all those who made the day so worthwhile and also thanked those who brought gifts and thanked the guests for coming. The mee'ing closed with The Queen. Nancy had a nice surprise for us as she passed a big plate of Christmas cake around. The next meeting is in N EL At this holy season we wish every blessing to our friends and customers. MacGregor Welding Ltd. Exets'- 235-1273 i February 1964. Sunday evening the CGIT led by Marcia Trevithick presented a very impressive Christmas Vesper service. The theme "The Manger, Masks and Me" raises ques- tions of who we are and whose we are, as we prepare ourselves to celebrate Christ's birth. It reminds us that en- countering and experiencing Jesus Christ strips away our masks and disguises, freeing us to be the persons God would have us be. A tasty lunch was served. Mrs. Bill Sutherland gave thanks to the leader and small CGIT group for their fine presentation and to Mrs. Jack Trevithick, as pianist. United Church Sunday evening a large crowd enjoyed the yearly Sunday school Christmas con- cert in the United church basement. Pastor Bea Ash welcomed all followed by prayer after which Bill Sutherland, superintendent, presided over a well -presented program by each class. Carols were sung twice throughout the pro- gram. -An adult group presented a short skit, and a skit "The Vicious Circle" was given by the United Church Women. The superintendent who is a faithful member of the Sun- day school, was totally taken by surprise when presented with a gift from the teachers and children. Bill, in his usual manner, thanked all for remembering him. Santa ar- rived and unloaded the Christmas tree.
