CARMEL CONCERT The Mount Carmel Christmas concert was held Deceniuer 14 at 7:30 p.m. The grades one, two a.id three children put on the play "Christmas in a Toy Story." Kindergarten children per- formed several songs and dances. Some four and five graders performed on recorders, "Away in a Manger" and "Jolly old St. Nick." The new- ly formed choir sang a selec- tion of lovely Christmas carols. The combined grades of three, four, six and seven, performed a play, "Three wee kings." This musical il- lustrates how the birth of Jesus fulfilled all the pro- phecies in the Bible. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God, the bright morning star, the Good Shepherd, the Lion of Judah and the King of Kings. All the childrens' prepara- tion shone through, and the parents and all those who at- tended were impressed and deeply touched. In the recent Huron -Perth volleyball tournament the Mount Carmel boys finished second and the girls finished third. A Christmas bake sale was put on by the school and they sold 175 cakes for ARC Industries of Dashwood. Not only have some bud- ding artists decorated the school windows, but some students painted the Dashwood post office win- dows as well, sharing their talents with the community. The Exeter High School theatre arts class visited Mount Carmel on Friday. They put on a play titled, "Go jump in the lake", to the delight of all the students.
