Visit to Santa's shop
By Cathy Amos
McGWlvray - Grade 4
It was December 23 at 12:00
p.m. Santa was very worried,
he had 100 letters from girls
and boys. He was not working
fast enough to finish all the
orders. Suddenly, in a flash
little blue, red, and orange
things popped up. They were
elves. It was 12:05 now.
The elves were right at
work. They read letters, cut
wood, and laughed and
played. By the time it was
9:00 a.m. every toy was
finished. The elves were
hungry by this time. All the
elves wanted pancakes and
toast. So, Mrs. Claus made
pancakes and toast. "Santa is
still sleeping because he has
a long journey," said Mrs.
Claus.
"Are we going with him?"
asked the elves. "No, you will
not be going with Santa
Claus," replied Mrs. Claus.
He will take Vixen, Donnor,
Prancer, and Rudolph. That
day when Santa woke up he
found it was almost time to
go. So, he got cleaned up, got
his reindeer ready and was
off.
Every child got what they
wanted so it was a terrible
time getting presents where
they went. When Santa came
to my friends house he did not
know what to give her
TRUE SPIRIT
By Don Penninga
Grade 7
Exeter Public School
In only one season comes
Christmas
It's the time of joy and love
Snow falls down in beautiful
flakes
While stars sing up above.
Shoppers push into malts,
But have children's hearts in
their hands
They see the pretty lights,
And remember the true spirit
in their minds.

PRESENTS

Last minute shopping
The best kind of fun
Cause it's almost Christmas
When all of its done.
With all my presents
Wrapped and tied
I've quite forgotten what's
inside
When people open them with
glee
They'll be no more surprised
then me.

McGILLIVRAY CENTRAL SCHOOL CHOIR IN CHRISTMAS CONCERT ACTION
A cold winter's night
By Jodi Green
J.A.D. McCurdy - Grade 7
Sitting by the fire
On a cold winter's night
Waiting for Santa
To come in his flight,
Hoping and hoping
With all our might
That Santa would come
On that cold winter's night.
We looked out the window
And saw a bright light
It was flying so high
At an enormous height,
We wished and hoped
That dear Santa might
Come to our house
On that cold winter's night.
And, suddenly,
We heard a noise
It must be Santa
With his sack full of toys!
The sound of hoofbeats
And then a pause,
And down the chimney
Came Santa Claus!
CHRISTMAS
By Christine Chalmers
Stephen Central - Grade 7
The air was cool and silent,
Nothing could be heard.
Children fast asleep,
Excited for the next morning.
Morning came,
Children up early
He filled up the stockings
Right up to the top
And then, with a laugh
And a skip and a hop,
He whisked up the chimney
And rode out of sight
And everyone was happy
On that cold winter's night.
WEEKEND
The presents being opened
Mom and dad watching
excitedly.
They sit together when
they're done.
Dad opens his Bible.
He reads the Christmas
Story.
Everybody listens happily.
