KINFOLK OUT OF TOWN? A GOOD REASON
TO PRE -PLAN
We hove, on occasion, suggested some of the
most important reasons for pre -planning a
funeral:
1. To alleviate the burden which falls on your
family.
2. To.insure that your wishes will be followed
exactly.
3. To avoid the risk of wasteful, unnecessary
over -spending.
But there is another, very important reason for
pre -planning a funeral --one which affects a
great many persons.
Not everyone has "family" in town. We a -e a
nation of travelers. And, although long-
distance, out-of-town funeral arrangements
are not uncommon, they tend to be morn
costly.
If you do not have "kin" close by, it may be a
good idea to consider a pre -planned or pr
paid funeral now.
Many provinces hove strict laws concerning
pre -paid funeral services and burial expenses.
We know what is involved and can handle the
details for you.
We'd be glad to discuss them with you.

its way through the village
streets as well as visiting the

Returning to the firehall San-
ta and helpers handed out
treats to the children.
Receiving first prize was

second was won by 1st
Brownie group, and winner of
the third prize was the Donald
McIntyre family of Carlisle
with their goat and sheep pull-
ing a wagon. Congratulations
to all three groups.

the Happy Gang senior club
Wednesday. Winners were

White Gifts
The United Church Sunday
School's White Gift service at-
tracted a large crowd to the
morning service.
During the singing of many
Christmas carols, Mrs. Don
Clark's senior class beautiful-
ly decorated the auditorium
of the church. Pastor Ash told
the origin of the poinsettia.
tree and candle. While the
congregation sang "Silent
Night", the class lit the
candles.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Parkin-
son greeted friends and Sun-
day School children who at-
tended. Barry Craven and
Murray Sutherland assisted
by Robert Rees and Robert
Whiteford received the offer-
ing as the senior choir sang.
Boys and girls decorated
the "bare" Christmas tree
with homemade decorations
brought by all who came and
in no time the tree glowed.
White Gifts of toys, food. and
money were placed at the foot
of the tree for the Salvation
Army of London.
Following this with
Superintendent Bill
Sutherland presiding, four
short stories were ably
presented.
"The Advent Apple" with
Mrs. Bill Sutherland slowly
and carefully prepared a
special apple for Ian
Macgregor. Ian's long
waiting for the treat is like the
preparation for and expecta-
tion of Advent as the world
waits for the birth of Christ.
Dennis Craven told us of the
"Greedy Family" and we
learned how greedy sounds.
"The Gift Tree" presented
by Bruce Karr showed us
sharing brings joys and
contentment.
Giving willingly to the less
fortunate was the thought
from the last story, "The Free
Gift" read by Faye Ash.
In closing Pastor Bea Ash
thanked all who took part in
the service making it a suc-
cessful family service.
The third advent candle
was lit by Kimberley Reed
